I feel stupid-er now
I just got an e-mail forward from my grandparents about how we should drill in ANWR and about how the democrats are artificially raising gas prices and how the ANWR coastal plain is a barren useless wasteland and about how the caribou and the polar bears don't really mind the drilling.
I don't really know what to think about ANWR. I think that one could make reasonable arguments either way. Poorly-formatted and poorly-argued e-mail forwards are not the means to make those arguments.
What scares me the most is that someday some historian is going to write a history of e-mail forwards...just like we study Thomas Paine' and Otis' and Dulany's pamphlets leading up to the American revolution, some sad history student will someday be subjected to analyzing e-mail forwards. The thought that our culture will be judged based off of these things is horrifying.
