David Bazan (of Pedro the Lion) was a very enjoyable opener for Iron & Wine. He played tons of new stuff. It was such a chill show overall. I'm a little sore from sitting awkwardly in one place, but it was a lot better than having my view obstructed by towering indie guys. Still annoying that Messiah books artists like Regina Spektor, Iron & Wine, and next month is The Decemberists. We got stuck with Pat Green.
Just some quick highlights/lessons before I go to bed:
David Bazan quoted something about the wickedness of God. Therefore, God is evil because everything in the Bible should be taken literally. Heh, oh sarcasm...
David Bazan had EPs for sale, not to be confused with MP3s. I'd feel bad stealing from him, but not Lars Ulrich.
Sam Beam was offered a DVD of the "Invisible Children" documentary. He mistakened it for "Miserable Children" which would not make for a very entertaining movie. He prefers movies that involve karate. He then asked if we had anything else to offer. Someone said their firstborn child. He declined. However, we were welcome to take one of his four.
In marriage, there is something called an ultimatum, which then prevents you from going on tour.
Sam Beam says he's so artsy when it comes to titling tracks. Also, mentioning Japanese cars in song lyrics does not guarantee strong reception in Japan.
Instead of screaming arbitrary song requests, tell a musician to play whatever they want and you will instantly be their new friend.
