so yesterday was fun and super late! I was really tired when I got back so I didn't post. and today was a late day too! geez.
yesterday... oh man. Fridays are sooo busy for me. I have class until chapel (usually through chapel, but whatever), then I rush to my apartment to change and go to my tae kwon do lesson at noon. we work out for about an hour and then I again rush back to my apartment where I shower really really fast and head to work. haha. so needless to say, I'm already pretty tired. then I worked until 2, and it was pretty crazy there. I just barely got all the prep done by five when I got off. Ken had called me arlier that day and told me that I might have to work until eight! I didn't want to because I had plans. But I told him if noone else could, I would. luckily, he ended up finding someone. so I got to leave at five. I went to my parents house to change clothes and eat my tuna sandwich, and then Nicki picked me up and we headed to Newcastle for the Newcaslte homecoming football game!
(and on a side note, I just typed that entire paragraph while my face was buried in the floor... I'm laying on the floor and my neck was feeling kinda tired so I decided not to look, lol. I think I made fewer typing mistakes than when I am looking at the screen. weird.)
we got down there about 6:20ish, and the homecoming festivities started at 7. then the game started at 8, and what a game it was! Newcastle - 50 other team (I honestly can't remember where they were from) - 0. what a game, what a game.
but really, I was there to support the band, considering four of my youth group kids are in it. Liz and Jesse, and Titus and Audrey. Jesse let me watch his hat during the game, haha. I wore it backwards the entire time, and Gena kept trying to get me to take it off. haha.
a cricket also jumped on my leg at some point, and was walking up it, when Shanon said "hey Abbey? there's a cricket on your leg." I looked down, saw it, and immediately swiped at it with my arm, knocking it about 3 feet away from me. which wasn't far enough for me, but I was glad it was gone. I hate crickets. I especially hate them being near or on me. I was all... creeped out the rest of the game. ha. I HATE BUGS AND SMALL HOPPY CREATURES THAT ARE NOT FROGS. I used to chase toads around, but oh my goodness keep the crickets away.
so... moving on. after the game was over, we were hanging out waiting for all the band kids to leave. Mike (Liz and Jesse's dad) is the band director, so he has to wait till all the parents come. so Jesse turned on some Queen in the band room really loud, and he, Titus and I grabbed these twirling sticks and used them as guitars. it was fantastic. we were jumping off chairs, head banging, jumping off the porch, spinning around. Audrey refused to claim knowing us, lol.
Gena decided to take her kids and go home while Mike waited for the rest of the parents to get there. So Nicki and I left and met Gena and the kids at the house. we all kinda half talked and half watched tv for a bit. eventually Shanon got sent to bed, Liz went to bed some point after Mike got home. then Gena and Nicki went in the kitchen and were talking, and Mike, Jesse and I were watching... Godzilla. lol. I think it was Godzilla vs. the Sea Creature, or something. It was mostly like watching MST3K with Mike and Jesse cracking jokes every scene. It was great. and that movie is sooo terrible, haha. Mike at some point made a really really terrible joke, I can't even remember what it was. But he was so tired, that his jokes had reached a new level of corny, and he decided that would be a good time to head to bed, haha. Jesse and I were hungry so we had been finishing off a small chicken that was in the fridge. we were still hungry, though, so he and I baked some cookies! they were goooood. aah, cookies and a Godzilla movie. we had a great time! haha. Nicki and I didn't leave until about 1:30. anyway. had a great time with Jesse, and it was nice to hang out with the Ways again. I hadn't been down there in a while, I missed them!
basically, I got to bed at almost 3, and woke up today at 10 to get ready for work. I almost couldn't find my keys this morning and I was freaking out. then I worked until 6:30. I was supposed to work until 5, but Ken is still having schedule issues (though this time it's not really his fault). Anyway, Yoshimi was finally able to show up at 6:30, and I was glad to leave, haha. so I called my parents to see what they were up to, and they were on their way to the grocery store, so I decided to go over to the house, take a shower, and eat with them. Dad was grilling steak and chicken. I had some chicken, and it was delicious. I love grilled chicken. we watched this week's "Joey" and "The Apprentice." then we were going to watch a movie, but Dad started watching "Walker, Texas Ranger." Now... this is sad. I'm not a huge fan of that show. I used to think it was pretty darn cool when I was younger (Texas and martial arts. oh yes), but now that I have a grasp of storylines and... acting, I don't think it's all that fantastic, haha. anyway, so the show is going along, and we're watching despite the goofiness. and just when it seems it's coming to the climax of the episode...
"To be continued..."
and I went "noooo!!" Dad started cracking up. "you don't even *like* this show!" "I know!" I replied. "That's what makes it even worse!"
so now I want to watch next week to see what happens, haha. it's so sad.
anyway. that's been my weekend. tomorrow I'm going to the fair with the family. I'm excited. I've been waiting forever for that cheese on a stick! and some corn. mmmmm. mom and dad want to go check out the survivor thing that's going on out there, and I guess we'll check out the display buildings and stuff. we'll probably go in the automobile building as usual. we like to check out the nice cars we can't afford. hooray for the fair!
on a completely different note, I should NOT have bought this bag of candy corn pumpkins. ::munch munch::
