How to get it on at the Priceton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital
I've never written a PWP. This isn't because I'm opposed to them in any way, it's just that if I'm writing it, I've got to believe it. I can suspend disbelief for a short time while reading, but if I'm writing it, I've got to believe it. The problem is that all my past fandom loves have been been cautious, analytical people. Yes, other fans have written highly spontaneous sex for Janeway or Giles or Remus, and I have enjoyed their efforts (*grin*), but I couldn't write it myself.
Now that I'm dipping into a new fandom, however, I thought I could finally try braving this final fic frontier. House, after all, is a definite id-boy. The 'ship of my choice trapped House in the lab, things were progressing, and... nothing. The believability problem that stopped me in my tracks wasn't a characterization problem this time, however, but a technical one. There is no convenient surface in that lab for sex. That made me realize that the potential nookie spots are limited all throughout the hospital. (There are always home locations of course, but unless you're writing House/Wilson, even this requires an explanation as to why one character is visiting another.) Since I was really going for plotless porn, this realization threw me into despair.
My beta, jesmel, is convinced that there has got to be a good location somewhere in the hospital and I just haven't thought of it yet. So, I put it to you all: where would you place House if you were writing porn without plot?
