Shipping meme day 17
Y'all may have noticed I'm not really doing FMM this year, I intend to keep that up, but I am trying to stick out this meme thing.
Day 17: Ship you talk(ed) about with people in real life
Not much of late, but when I was young I talked about B5 and X-files with real life people. Shipping wise, particularly X-files. Then sometimes I used to have big discussions with friends about Buffy ships. We really didn’t agree on much of anything but we had fun talking about it.
I did have a couple friends to talk about DW with too, one of whom didn’t really get into shipping, but one with who I could aww over all things Doctor/Rose. On the other hand when the topic turned to Harry Potter we had really different opinions of ships.
My mom and I will from time to time discuss fannish things, and sometimes that involves ships. Not so much of a ‘do you ship it’ conversation, but a ‘how does this ship reflect the show’ kind of things. Somewhat in BSG, but the one that kind of comes up occasionally is the development of the characters in the Ender series, mostly the Bean books actually since I take serious issues with the whole ‘let’s have like 20 kids’ development we got late in the series.
I guess my sister and I occasionally talk about TVD and that will sometimes involve talking about shipping, because the show is kind of built around shipping. We actually do both agree on disliking the Salvatores, though she also disliked Elena so doesn’t really care about any of the big ships. But since most of the ships I do care about are Elena just not the trolls, the conversation doesn't last long.
