Good! I'd miss your recaps! :)
I have similar feelings about Hayley, I am just happy I don't mind her anymore (and I did in TVD, the character was awfully flat, useless, irritating - in TO they're very careful with her and her development, still...) because it would be really awkward watching her integrating into my fav vampire family, let alone Elijah (!).
Surprisingly I very much enjoyed Marcel - or maybe Ch.M.D. portraying him - how he was watching Klaus taking over his town, the care of "his people" was evident, also his genuine feelings for Rebekah - sadly not strong enough to choose her for once, his feelings for Klaus (and the similarities they both share) coming in the way. At least I thought so - I may be reading more to it than what was there!
Loved the Elijah / Rebekah teasing, too short though.
Also Josh/Davina and Davina/Cami (the ending! lol) - no complaint.
I enjoyed. Definitely not the best episode but a good one. More compact would be better - too many different story lines and moments - a little... fragmented maybe...(?)

The annoying thing about Hayley/Elijah is that is that I don't hate it. If I hated it I'd just do my best to ignore it like I do most ships on TVD. Sure I'd hate it but it wouldn't...bother me quite the way it does right now. I don't like it the way it's written but I kind of think I could have if it had been handled differently. And a lot of that has to do with how bland Hayley herself is. It's like shipping Elijah/lamppost, sure he's awesome enough to probably have chemistry with it, but it's a lamppost (arguably the same could be said of s4 E/E I suppose, but it's a little different)
And I didn't mind Hayley when she started out on TVD, I liked Tyler having a werewolf friend well enough, and while I thought Klaus probably should have killed her early on since that was true of everyone by that point it didn't nag at me. But she wasn't exactly a deep character there either, that's to be sure. She's better on TO, but she's still pretty bland.
I liked a lot of Marcel this episode, I just couldn't get a great read on him a lot of the time. Some of that's probably my fault since I do pay a lot more attention to especially the Originals, and to a lesser extent some of the other characters than I do him.
If was a perfectly fine episode, I don't have much to complain about overall, just nothing that really grabbed me.
