100 Drabbles of Summer 2013: post 5
It’s almost over, and I’ve got one left to write, and many more left to post.

Warnings, notes: Not the most full reading of Eleven since I haven’t watched as much of him.
He’s not the man he was last time, so desperate for love and acceptance that he could lose his way without someone there to offer it. He’s his own man now...for the most part. That man is still part of him along with all of them who had made him whole then.
There are days he wants to scream at Amy about all that’s happened, all that he’s lost; all that, on normal days, he doesn’t think she needs to know about. Last time not telling her would have been shutting her out, now it’s just who he is.

Warnings, notes: No real spoilers, but Sansa’s illusions
Winter was coming, the words of Sansa’s youth were never forgotten, but in Highgarden the colors of summer still shone brightly. She and Loras walked along the carefully manicured garden paths and he smiled at her, the sun lighting up his luxurious hair.
Sansa smelled the scent of roses, felt the warmth of the humid air gently stirred by the slightest breeze, tasted the ripe fruit and sweet lemon flavors that filled her surroundings.
She was safe and protected and loved. A little slice of paradise that she wrapped around herself.
At least that was the way she imagined it.

Elena was painting her toenails on Rebekah’s porch and glancing around occasionally so Elijah knew she knew he was out there. Even when she was human, Elena had almost had an extra sense for when he was near, and now she knew he was watching her. It was a little unnerving, but without emotions it wasn’t like she actually cared.
She didn’t care that he was watching, and she didn’t care if he was looking to see how much of the old compassionate Elena remained. She certainly didn’t care what he decided. He’d stayed away when he might have helped.

There was a time when Jackie had worried over sniffles and skinned knees, of mothers who wouldn’t watch her baby as well as she could, and that Rose’s wandering spirit would get her lost.
Later she’d worried about short skirts and shorts and who might be paying attention to Rose as she wore them, whether Rose wanted that kind of attention, and what could come of that sort of thing.
Those had been worries Jackie understood, she had lived them herself. What worried her now were things she didn’t know, couldn’t begin to know. But Rose was willing to face.

His TARDIS had been the one constant n his life for centuries, her superficial changes barely counted - and amounted to less than the Doctor’s own. He’d faced the possibility of losing her a few times, but they had remained.
He wasn’t quite Time Lord anymore, he couldn’t have heard the TARDIS even if he’d still been there (he’d felt her somewhat more than plain humans could, but only just), and he was quickly cut off from her entirely.
Of course he missed his TARDIS, he likely always would; but he never doubted that he’d gotten the better end of things.

Warnings, notes: post-series, so full spoilers...though only referenced passingly
They were still outlaws living in hiding in Nottingham Forest; and people still expected Much to keep them fed. The thought nagged at him when the recriminations started, but Much didn’t mind being out on his own hunting for food. Camp was noticeably less crowded than it had been, but it felt close when they were all there, and the absences even more felt in those times.
But out on his own Much could almost pretend things hadn’t changed, he was still doing as he always done, taking care those he cared about; who wouldn’t be there when he returned.

They would never be truly free of people wanting to hunt or harm them, Aeryn simply accepted that and John learned to resign himself to it. And on good days, when they stopped for a family outing on the shores of some distant world, Aeryn would relax with her husband and son and think she might be willing to add another child to their family.
On bad days, when pirates - probably actually working for some government they had frelled up - invaded the ship and threated their home and family, any idea of putting another helpless life at stake was unthinkable.

With all the women Tony had brought home over the years, Pepper had never been jealous of them. She might admit to looking down on them a little when it was her job to see them off in the morning, but her coldness towards them hadn’t been because she wanted Tony for herself back then. She had been his assistant and confidant, which had been more than enough to handle; but she’d always been the one he trusted enough to give her full access to his house, his life, and his unguarded opinion.
Why now did he shut her out?

Elijah’s eyes are sharp, they miss nothing. He’s confident that should the situation turn sour he’ll see it coming ahead of time.
It’s every other sense that tells him something is wrong. His eyes see Katherine same as before, but he hears her surprise, his smells her change in perfume, he feels and tastes her uncertainty when he kisses her.
It’s not that he doesn’t trust his other senses, but he can think of a thousand excuses for them; and his eyes have never seen Katherine when he looks at her, maybe now his other senses are fooling themselves too.

The Mystic Falls crew took up residence on the opposite side of the manor from the Mikaelsons at first. But before long Matt and Rebekah started hooking up. A couple weeks later Jeremy and Kol’s play dates became real ones about the time people started catching Elena and Elijah making out. Once those two started shaking up together, Bonnie was convinced she’d be the last one standing as Klaus was still actively pursuing Caroline.
As it turned out Bonnie kind of feel for Finn once he returned, leaving Caroline on her own. It did make her more determined to resist.
