Okay, so normally I like to rewatch as much as I can of my shows before they start up again so let’s make a tally of what’s likely to get done.
Arrow: 23 eps; while I suspect it would work better to marathon it, it’s low priority to watch before new ones start up.
Castle: 100+ eps; unlikely to rewatch the whole thing, but I could do the arc episodes, some favorites, and maybe all the last season or two. Should probably at least rewatch the season finale before going forward.
Community; ~80 eps I think; I’d like to do a rewatch, but as much as I love this show I’m just not feeling driven to. Come to think of it, I’m not even sure this is a fall return this year, you’d think I’d know that sort of thing.
Downton Abbey: 25 eps (some of them doubles sized); it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since I last watched this show so I’m not going to make it a priority...for now. I wouldn’t be surprised but it’s return sparks a rewatch before we get too far into new eps.
Korra: 12 eps, and already rewatched; benefitting from being fairly short I took an afternoon recently and watched through the first season again. It still mostly falls apart in the end, but it’s also still pretty enjoyable.
Once Upon a Time: 44 eps probably; I would like to rewatch this, and not at the slow rate I’m going with the review project, but it’s another one I just can’t seem to get in the mood for this summer.
Revenge: 44 eps I think; right about the same level of interest/drive to rewatch as OUaT, though in a slightly different balance. I do still think s2 would hold together better if I watched it all at once, but I don’t know whether I’ll get to it either.
TVD: 89 eps at this point; oh man, I could easily convince myself to jut dive into season 1-3 but as the point would be to rewatch s4 (since aside from rewatching a few scenes on 4x18 basically on a loop I’ve only watch it once) it’s really hard to convince myself to do it. I really hated s4, in case anyone’s forgotten that fact.
And speaking of TVD, boy howdy do I have to disagree with TWoP’s attitude towards TVD vs. The Originals.
The Originals is unlikely to be as consistently jaw-dropping as Vampire Diaries, so saving it to watch later in the week seems like a fine plan.
Now that the Originals have been shipped off to their own series, we're hoping this show can get back to the rip-roaring twisted love triangle that we know and used to love.
One thing's for sure, Klaus and his family have headed off to their own show, so unless that gets cancelled, we're done with the Original nonsense for a while.
I am about 10000x more interested in The Originals than I am TVD refocusing on the god forsaken love Triangle. I want two parts of that Triangle DEAD ASAP, IF STEFAN STAYS IN THE WATER FOR THREE SEASONS MY ONLY REGRET WILL BE THAT DAMON ISN’T THERE TOO, and as far as I’m concerned Elena is already dead as the show doesn’t treat her as if she’s anything but a shell at this point. And since the only time any of these characters are able to be interesting now is acting off the Originals...yeah I’m not looking forward to it.
So yeah, if by “love triangle we know and used to love” you mean ‘the worst goddamned thing on television’ and by “Original nonsense” you mean ‘the best thing the show ever did and the provider of most of those jaw-dropping moments you remember’ then...yeah you’d be closer to my opinion but it would be exactly the opposite of what you’re saying so...yeah.
(I may still get to a review tonight, but I wanted to get this out there first)
