4th of July observations and other things
So here’s a bit of a story. We thought the local fireworks started at 9, as we can watch them from the end of our driveway it wasn’t really a problem that they didn’t start til 9:30, but it gave me a chance to appreciate something: this year people are paying attention to the fire ban. There’s been one the last couple 4th’s but usually there’s a few people around us who either didn’t get the memo or decided to ignore it. This year not so much; I guess half the Front Range being on fire will put a dampener on even most of the scofflaws. I’ll have to keep an ear out the rest of the night to see if it lasts.
Anyway happy 4th (even to people where it’s just your average Wednesday).
Okay a couple more notes:
My muses are tentatively back, and I’m working on TWTS sequel. In that one I had to remind Elena and Elijah that the prompt called for sex so if they could please find a point in their conversation about morality and family and feelings to actually get to the sex I’d be happy to give them a good time. In this one they’re feeling all schizophrenic about whether they want to talk some more or have more sex, so it’s a little all over the place so far.
I think I’ve concluded that I am in fact watching Saving Hope just for the eye candy as the last episode for me was the one where I just wanted DG’s character to win a best ass competition, and where I was repeatedly distracted from the actual story by how beautiful MS’s eyes are. The man has freakishly beautiful eyes. It’s not a bad show for a hospital show, and ED is doing a pretty good job carrying the emotional weight of the show but at the end of the ep all I really remember is the eye candy aspects. At least I’m being honest with myself about it I suppose. And there’s only a couple eps left anyway I believe (please, I want Elijah back too badly to want this show to make it in any way that would keep DG off TVD).
The other story I’m sort of poking at is from my headcanon DW/SG1 crossover world, but I think I need to watch some SG1 (and probably some DW) to get my head in the right place. Not that that’s really a hardship (it’ll be more MS clearly), but the part of me that knows that can’t seem to convince the rest of me to do it. I’m doing it with TVD clearly, but I can’t convince myself to also do it for other shows.
...well so far things have been fairly quiet out there, but it hasn’t been all that long.
