A few things
1) I had really good plans of writing this weekend, so far I've come closer to vidding (in that I'm prepping some stuff for future vidding). I can't even blame the muses for this one because they're around, I just can't seem to make myself do anything with them.
2) A quote from my sister "So I watched the first half of Doctor Who season 6; it's really not good." I haven't gotten to season 6 yet myself (I will one day...probably) but that's a further reason not to. Sis isn't even that big a DW fan to begin with and even she's disappointed by s6.
3) I thought I'd check in regarding my Buffy rewatch before I hit the Angelus arc.
It's amazing how much better season 2 got, and how quickly. Well, not amazing since I knew it must. Even though it's been a while since I watched it I didn't think my tastes had changed quite as much as they would have to to find s2 as...meh as I did s1 this time.
All of the characters are more dynamic and the most of the relationships between them more interesting. The stories feel more whole and complex. And all around the writing/acting/etc. just improved a lot.
Weirdly, while I like all the relationships more I find myself shipping less. I'm pretty okay with most ships on the show at this point but not attached to any. Even my B/G sensibility isn't feeling as OTP about their relationship here, actually even less than in s1 in some ways.
I'm definitely looking forward to Angelus, because I'm still not really into Angel and there's a lot of awesome eps during the Angelus arc, even because of Angelus. I don't dislike Angel, and sometimes I kind of get why people ship Buffy/Angel even if it doesn't do it for me, but for now I'm still hoping I'll maybe like Angel before he goes off to his own show.
And as much as I **LOATH** (I should probably bold, underline, enlarge and set on that fire to come close to expressing the depth of my loathing) Spike later it's only slightly colored my enjoyment of s2-Spike. If only they'd killed him before he became awful I'd love the shorter term character that was cool.
But yeah, the next part should be great to rewatch. See you again then.
