Title: Unforgiven

Jack isn’t exactly the Doctor’s biggest fan any more, but he knows he’s just angry right now. Every time his life falls apart and the Doctor could have prevented it he questions why he still loves the man, and in time he always finds it in him to forgive.
Coming to say goodbye makes Jack wish he could forgive him now, and not carry this into another life. But as nice as the gesture with Alonzo is, Jack wishes it was Ianto in his arms that night when the memory Steven’s screams comes over him.
Seeing Rose might have helped.

In Spiderman, Peter referred to Mary-Jane as ‘the girl he’d loved since before he liked girls.’ Matt might not have grown up next-door to Elena, but he could identify with the sentiment. He simple couldn’t remember not loving Elena, she’d always been the one
He tried to love Caroline, but it was never what he still felt for Elena. He knew that if it was Elena who had become a vampire he might have been scared, but wouldn’t have betrayed her.
It probably made what he was doing to Caroline even worse, knowing he could have stood by someone else.

Everything the humans though cost-effective to strip from the zen garden had been removed, which left it a bare shadow of the garden Delenn saw so clearly in her mind. This place was full of memories, some of the strongest of Delenn’s life lived on here.
Strongest of all were her thoughts of John. She had grown far too human over the years that she would grieve for this place and all its memories. Her own memories would never leave her, but it also seemed, to a part of her heart, that she was losing another part of John himself.

Rose was furious. Mickey had talked her into grabbing a nap before she went back to the other universe, but he had evidently made sure she got far more sleep than she’d intended. Her alarm had been turned off and somehow no one had needed her in over ten hours which didn’t happen unless they were kept away from her.
“You needed it,” was all Mickey said when she called him on it.
“The universes needs saving more than I need sleep,” she reminded him as she shrugged into her jacket. They shared a rueful grin, they were both right.

Prompt #25: lotion
Shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, perfumes, they all carry a scent, and each scent calls to mind a memory. Of the softness of her hand in his; of holding her close while they danced; of her pressed against him, her hair under his nose as they hid from someone he had pissed off.
But none of the scents can recapture the smell of Rose. That was more than any of these added aromas could ever capture. Soon all traces of her scent would fade from the TARDIS, and soon even the artificial scents would be gone.
Maybe then he’d let go.

Before, Guy had not been a habitual drinker. Before, he had cared too much for his duty and his reputation to cloud his mind and actions with alcohol. Before, he had not been troubled by sober thoughts to seek relief in spirits.
Before.
This was after and though all the bottle granted was the chance to numb the pain it was a numbness he craved. There was nothing in the world he cared enough for that he needed to be fully aware of it.
The problem was the numbness brought on sleep, and sleep brought the demons he was fleeing.

In roleplaying it was simple, don’t split the party. Everyone learned that early on and though, of course, it happened everyone knew better and tried to stay together.
For a time it applied to their group in real life too. Stay together, watch out for each other, stand by each other’s sides, those were sound ideas in real or imagined worlds.
But it didn’t last. In time Neal’s friends drifted away and he was left alone. The party had been split for good it seemed; he wished it ended like the game where they all rode into the sunset together.

No matter how difficult the world made their three-way relationship, it was still easier than ever trying to ever separate the trio. The all belonged together, and no one else could matter to any of them the way they loved each other. In spite of everything, life had gotten much simpler since they accepted that fact.

Prompt #29: concert
Vasey heard music in destruction, exulted in his symphony of pain. I might relish a chord or two, and worry sometimes about a sharp note, but I never appreciated the full orchestra as Vasey did. The full melody was beyond my comprehension.
But then, I was only an instrument, a small part played by a master musician. An instrument does as it is played and made to sound, concerned with creating the notes as it is bid. It is not for an instrument to concern itself with the effect of the symphony on the audience.
Vasey however, was the conductor.

The TARDIS had never flown so smoothly, all the more impressive as they were towing a planet behind them. But when there were enough people to properly work the controls it was amazing how smooth the drive was.
She was happy, full of life and joy that had been too long absent. In some moments the Doctors could let themselves feel it too; at other times they were already thinking of the heartbreaks that waited at the end of this magnificent flight. She wished he could let himself appreciate this happiness while it lasted at least, but he never learned.
