Well...
I watched this movie on SBS tonight. They show all the weird foreign movies on SBS. Not that I"m against foreign films mind. This one was called Lilya 4-ever. It was set in Estonia but they spoke Russian. I don't remember if Estonians still speak russian or if they're like the Lithuanians and don't like to admit that they speak Russian. Either way, I did understand most of the movie without needing the subtitles.
While I'm not exactly sure if it was a TIP movie per se, it did show how it works. I don't know if it's because I talked to our people that deal with it in the embassy or what, but I knew as soon as Lilya met Andrei and he offered her a job that she was going to be trafficked. Sad really. I felt bad for both the kids. Poor Volodya was abused and Lilya was neglected by her mother. Literally, her mother left her to go to the US. Sad movie, with a sad ending. If you were hoping Lilya escapes her captor, well, she does but not in the way I expected. Volodya as her guardian angel was a nice touch.
