A couple things...
First off, I should amend my previous list of things that kick ass. I was informed after its creation of a startling omission:
Krista also kicks ass :)
I Finally bought a computer. It's a basic model from Hewlett Packard, and it should work adequately for my college purposes. I only wish I'd had enough cash on hand to opt for the flatscreen monitor... alas, I'll have to make do with CRT.
Sometime in the next few days I'll order a Dell Axim X30 to go with it... not the 624Mhz model, sadly, but the scaled down 312Mhz version. Still integrated wireless and bluetooth, 64 megs of RAM, including 45 "user available" and another 64 on an SD card... which I'll probably replace with something more substantial and use the original for storage. In any case, I'm getting an aluminum case and an extra battery as well, so I'll be all set in the handheld department. I'll be looking forward to see how Windows Mobile 2003 II works out... it supports on the fly shift from portrait to landscape and some other awesome things like that... a major, MAJOR advance over my old Casio E-11... but then again it's way more expensive, lol.
It also comes bundled with Pocket Quake... muwahahahahaha!
As you can see from below, I picked up a copy of An Evening With John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess, which kicks ass... so much ass.
Today I went to see the Metawee Players do their annual performance on the lawn of Johnson Hall with Vincent. It was amusing, as per usual... I think they were trying to ressurect an older style of entertainment from the old middle east. That's the only explanation I can produce for some of the randomness we witnessed. Their puppets and masks were up to par for their usual. The first dragon they brought out looked pretty cool... but then he somehow changed into a different dragon with killer fangs that looked like a dog... and then into a different one that looked like it was built of scrap metal... which was then slain by Alexander the Great, who just happened to be in the area. Experimental theater is fucked up, man... but I donated $2 anyway, as some of their previous work was better, even if I didn't like this one so much, and maybe they'll do something I like more next year. On a side note, Mr. Nelson is somewhat vindicated for his gratuitous use of sexual innuendo, as this play featured comparable amounts. As to the title of this entry... For the life of me I couldn't figure out where this play took place... they acted kind of greek, but talked about the Quran (Koran) a lot... I think it was in Turkey.
