Craziness - we went up to Traverse City, and it was still a moderate temperature in EL, then I got home yesterday afternoon and it felt like I'd been gone for a month. The temperature went up like 25 degrees in three days. No, two days. Ridiculous. I need to adjust to warm weather again :)
Today marks my first day at ELFAC for the season. I've managed to skip out on all of my other shifts out there. It's not open yet, but we need to do all sorts of opening jobs. And we have a headguard meeting today, which should be interesting, as always. I'm hoping Josi isn't too stressed - as unlikely as that may be. The meeting won't be that bad, as long as she just takes a deep breath and doesn't raise her voice for no reason.
Anyway. My parents survived their marathon, barely. My mom was in the hospital the Friday before Mother's Day with gallbladder issues. She's going to have it taken out, but wanted to run the marathon first, seeing as she's been training for it since January (actually, since last summer, if you really think about it). They finished, but not as fast as they would have liked. Her stomach/gallbladder starting acting up around mile 9, but they kept on keeping on, and actually managed to get a pretty decent split at the half (13.1 miles). I don't think I have any desire to run 26 miles. I'd like to do the half again in Detroit, and maybe actually finish with a decent time, but. . .a marathon? No thanks.
Time to get dressed in grubby gear. I sense I am going to have to do something gross, like scrub bird poop or clean the bottom of the pool or something. Better yet, powerwash the entire pool deck. As long as I'm outside, that way I can start to get my b-e-a-utiful tan back :)
Evan comes home tomorrow night! Less than 36 hours until I get to see him again! 13 days (13 days? It seems like its been so much longer than that!) with no verbal communication is just too long.
PS B-dubs tonight for the game, if anyone happens to read this. Cell it.
