An end-of the-year survey that I've been doing since 2004/2005. It's fun to look back on things that I did and didn't do. Here we go...
1. What did you in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Are you ready for this?
a) graduated with honors from high school
b) learned how to swim :)
c) learned how to drive and got my driver's license in the process
d) started college, which turned out to be a liberating and exciting experience
e) learned how to put gas on (haha!)
f) was thrown a surprise birthday party
g) received a two-thousand dollar scholarship c/o PG&E
h) formed a close bond with my high school friends
i) went to prom (!!!)
j) made it to the dean's list
There's obviously more, but I am not going to go on forever and bore any of you because this list only benefits me anyway.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never made any.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My good friend, Jessica, gave birth to little Allaya. :)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, my grandpa in February. :(
5. What countries did you visit?
None. But, if we're talking about trips here, I went to San Francisco after seven years, and it was a pretty fun trip. And I went to Santa Barbara for the first time, which was also fun.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
How about a love life? HAHA!
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
1) April 26, 2007 - PROM
2) May 30, 2007 - HS Graduation
3) Summer 2007 - Fun in the sun
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Definitely graduating with honors from high school. Some people are so caught up with their vanity that they almost don't care about their education, but I can't be like that.
I also feel like I've really grown up this year (what with learning to drive, going to college, and accepting the fact that I'm not a kid anymore and I have to start looking after myself) and finally came to terms with that.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Um, the AP exam? Haha! Not exactly a big deal, but we are talking about failing here.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I got sick a couple of times (one of them being on Christmas).
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hands down, MacBook.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I have to be honest and say me. I really feel that I've changed this year and I am starting to get closer to the real essence of what I want to become as a person.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I had a few issues with certain people, but it's been resolved, so all is well now.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Food - I've never eaten out so much than I did this year. The Marketplace has become our cafeteria.
Perfumes and make-up- they were my "vanity obsession" for this year.
Gas - I spend about $30-40 a week for a full tank.
15. What did you get really, really excited about?
High school events (which were a lot), prom, graduation, spending so much time with my friends, doing things on my own, going to Disneyland!
16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
1) Bartender by T-Pain
Reminds me of my sister's party, which was rather memorable for me, personally.
2) A Walk Through Hell by Say Anything
My girlfriends and I would hop on Michael's truck after a long day at the pool, and head to McDonald's, and on the way, Michael would play this song and sing along.
3) Crank That by Soulja Boy
My guy friends would play this song out loud on their cell phones and would start dancing, as we girls shook our heads and thought that we have stupid friends. And the dance became the thing to learn.
4) Umbrella by Rihanna
It was inevitable. It became so mainstream that ELLA, ELLA, EY, EY would keep echoing in your ears hours after you've heard it.
5) Immaterial White by FreeTEMPO
6) 1234 by Feist
My friend Angie and I were so hooked on this song, that we literally had a moment when we were sitting in the cafeteria and we both took our iPods out and just listened to this song.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? definitely happier
ii. thinner or fatter? i was thinner by five pounds. haha!

Nothing, really. I am still figuring my way around all the new things that happened this year.

Griselda, Denisse, Profs. Cruz-Boone and White, Ricardo :), a guy named Eric for making me laugh at 9:30 in the morning for his silly questions and comments, and Miguel the foolio.
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
Hard work ALWAYS pays off.
38. Quote a song lyrics that sums up your year:
"Here’s to the old times and the best of new ones. Finding our way from illusions to realities. Hoping to wake up from this madness. Pushing our way to the limit of yours and mine. I’m growing up, getting down. Putting my both feet on the ground. With all my friends behind me. How can I go wrong this time?" --that's Gary V. for you.
