Dear Jean,

Just thought I'd let you know how we are doing up here.

It's summer and the mosquitoes are absolutely everywhere. I've gotten used to them, but Maddie worries that they are going to attach themselves to Nathan and carry him off. The mosquitoes are huge. I can see her point.

The Twin Otter needed a new strut for the right front wheel before it was ever going to pass yearly, so I built a new one. Mark, the artist I told you about last time? He hauled all his welding gear over to the field and we spent two days drinking beers and arguing over the load bearing stress of the welds. But the Otter passed inspection, and Maddie hasn't crashed it yet, so I think I was right.

Nathan's eyes haven't darkened yet. Maddie thinks they will. I told her to not be ridiculous.

There's a guy down in the city who says he has a classic Indian. Next time I make the run I'm going to take a look. If he's not kidding, I already told Maddie I'm buying it.
