Since I'm home sick, and not doing much of anytyhing, I thought I'd write up a TV Watching Update
2011 Emmy Awards
Why do the Emmys always make me cringe? I thought Jane Lynch was a decent host, but the musical numbers, the Jersey spoof, and the "Emmytones" (OMG, the worst!) were awful. Who gets paid to come up with this crap? And why is it even

I saw New Girl and enjoyed it. Miss Deschanel has some off-beat comic timing and she is very likeable---a sort of Mary Tyler Moore for the 21th century (or at least the first couple of decades of it). And one of her roommates was Damon Wayans' son? No wonder, I liked him so much. He has his daddy's charm and ease. And he is gone from the show? >8-(
I don't read about any of the new shows so I know nothing about them.
I did stumble on Homeland over at Showtime. I like Damien Lewis' underplaying and Claire Danes' was made to play an intelligent woman character---you can see her thinking and evaluating her moves. Moreena Baccarin and Mandy Potemkin (although he'll quit after the second season if the show stays on) are in it too. It appears to be what Rubicon thought it was. I'll be watching it. I might pick up that show about poor people too that William Macy is in.
AS for that Playboy thing, No Way will I watch it. Playboy and Hugh Hefner (and you know that he is involved because that is his brand and he is an old creepy sex pervert) offend my feminist sensibilities. And Kirstie Alley starred in the Gloria Steinem, I was a Playboy Bunny for a Magazine Article, miniseries many years and pounds (real pounds, not the ones that she makes up to peddle her poundage and clamage "Make Yourself Another Person" kits) ago. So I will be missing Miss Freeman.
I saw some numbers that showed that that Playboy thing couldn't even match the numbers for that Chase show that it re-placed. Playboy could be another Down the Texas Drain, or whatever that show that Miss Palicki was in before Wonder Woman sank. Is Miss Palicki scheduled to be in the Playboy thing? Ahoy the Titanic!
I'm not going to bother with Ringer. I caught up with Nikita and with all the twists and shifts in that show, it will be on my watch list this next season.
Watch Out for Falling Trees!
My next door neighbor cut down most of his trees. I can see into his backyard now---that's weird. I think that he just didn't want to rake leaves this fall. And that is fine with me, I have to rake his leaves too.

I meant to watch Homeland, but I didn't realize it premiered already. Well, thats what I get for not paying attention.
I'm not so much offended by The Playboy Club, but I think its utterly ridiculous to try and suggest that being a Playboy Bunny is somehow empowering for women in any way. Its not. Never was, never will be.
Trees, the price we pay for privacy from our neighbors. LOL
