Hey M :)

Its kind of funny, because at first, I thought I got 2 responses from the same person. Then I noticed that it was "Matt" and "M", and realized that it was 2 of my favorite guys from K-Site. But man, you guys should talk, because your opinions are really similar. And quite a bit like my own. LOL

I'm not much of a Gough/Millar fan, but I'm not Souders/Peterson fan either. If push comes to shove, I do think G/M were more talented writers. But I really wonder what SV might've been in the hands of showrunners who really loved and respected the character of Clark Kent/Superman the way I do. I think we did see that sometimes, but never consistently. And I'm frankly AMAZED at how many times this show undermined Clark as a character, and cut him off at the knees. Doing a random rewatch, its astounding to see the frequency of it.

Like you, I think the show tried to have its cake and eat it too. They wanted a Superman show without a Superman. But moving into that territory, while holding Clark back, created a dichotomy that hurt the show, and the main character.

I don't have any issues with TW and ED as actors. In fact, as much as this hurts me to say, I think ED did a far better job of attempting to sell Clois to me then TW did. I'm not sure I'm ever going to understand what happened there, or why. Because TW never had any troubles selling me on Clana.

Its funny you should mention Requiem, because I actually watched that this past week in my random rewatch. And its such a deeply problematic episode on so many levels. But whats going on between TW and KK in their scenes? Its strong.

Still, that episode makes me want to punch baby chicks. Its so disappointing to me that KK liked that exit for Lana.

The more I've thought about Lex in the finale, the more I fall on the side of people who believed it shouldn't have happened. Since that was supposed to be the real Lex, apparently, then wiping his memories of not only Clark, but everything, is major suckage. Its too much. And it ruins so much.

Falling Skies is so disappointing to me. Its tragic.

I loved Oz too. Watched every season, even the last one where it seems they killed just about everyone. Great, great show.

Take care, and don't be a stranger!
