Wow, its been a long time. Sadly, I don't have much to say these days. I guess all I had to talk about was Smallville, and I don't have that much more to say about that

Hiya! Remember me? It's been a while, huh? I hope all is well with you.
I didn't know how best to get in touch with you these days, so I figured I'd try posting a comment here.
(1) I've been reading some of your reviews from Season 8 of "Smallville." Interesting stuff. And it's so tragic how you lost your initial optimism somewhere around the Lana Arc.
Also, I deeply enjoyed your observation that it's no surprise that Clark left his "Clark" life at the end of the season. His closest friends and allies had screwed him over, his work wife had gone missing, Jimmy had gotten killed, innocent people had gotten killed -- it was a lot. Granted, problems with his personal relationships wasn't really the reasoning the show eventually gave us for why Clark left them all. But it should've been.
(2) I've watched much of Season 10 and read many of your reviews. I agree with you that Chloe got pretty much the bestest supersuit of any character in the end. Hell, even Clark still couldn't manage to marry his "one," his "strength," the "love of his life" -- seven years later.
(3) All seriousness, the whole "Chlollie" thing makes me laugh. Never mind my personal views on the couple, but did the PTB really think they were best serving that ship and its fans by relegating nearly all of the progress to Offscreenville? Apparently, the answer is a yes. And that's where the laughter comes in.
(4) You know, I still feel weird about the PTB bringing up the huge and important question of whether Clark (and every other hero, really) is being selfish by having a personal/private life, because they never really sufficiently answered it. They never had CLARK HIMSELF articulate how important ALL of his personal relationships are to making him a happier, more fulfilled person, and thus an even more effective and invested hero.
(5) Mr. "I once shot an arrow in Clark's back, murdered someone, and never really apologized for or grew from any of that" ended up as Clark's best man? Seriously, show?

Hey you!! Of course I remember you. How the heck are you? I wasn't even sure if you were watching or following SV anymore.
Here is always a good place to reach me. But I'm also on twitter, if you are into that. Thats pretty much it these days.
1. Thanks. I was really sorry that they didn't take a potentially good story for Clark and try to make something out it. Instead, they just decided to make it all Clark's fault (for...doing something wrong), and they didn't really try to examine the depth of Clark's RIGHTFUL disillusionment with the events and people around him.
2. Chloe over the last 3 years just make me grind my teeth. The showrunners seem to be so afraid of her rabid fans, and so enamoured of the character themselves, that they cared little about writing her realistically, and doing justice to anyone that came into direct contact with her. Her S10 arc sucked bad and was infuriating to me.
3. Chlollie. Never got it, never will.
4. You are absolutely right. Another blown opportunity. But that would've required writing that was invested in Clark in a way that these showrunners and writers weren't.
5. The Clark and Oliver friendship was never believable to me at all. And its obvious that Oliver was the best man because there just weren't any other options.
