exhausted

yesterday was the annual picnic that we have for our consumers.  i "worked" until 10, helped prepare hot dogs until noon and then spotted on horse and pony rides until 3.  for a picnic, it's really tiring.  especially walking in circles for 3 hours in the sun.  the consumers love it, though.  it's awesome to get a person that's confined to  wheelchair up onto a horse or pony.  our physical therapy staff is greatly diminished so we couldn't get as many of them up there safely, but those that got to ride loved it.  you should see their faces.  so while i get kicked and pinched and drooled on (by people and horses alike) it's definitely worth it.  lifting and transferring and balancing is much more work than i'm used to in a day.

after work, photographer friend mark hung out with us and showed us pics from the shoot that wasn't a shoot.  a few of them really good, most of them were pretty good and a few were 'eh'.  but as he kept pointing out, it wasn't really a shoot.  we had just gone over to his place for an ice-breaker.  he's not used to working with a model and wanted a chance to get to know jovi a little so they'd be more comfortable with each other and on the same page at the actual shoot.  not photos were going to be taken, but two rolls of film later...well, you get the idea.  i have a feeling he's going to use a few of his photos from the non-shoot at his next show.  we'll see.

tonight is 'dark knight'.  i can't wait to so see it.  i've been looking forward to it since 'batman begins' ended.  i only wish our local imax was screening it.  that would be awesome.  guess we'll have to make do with the regular ol' screen for now.  i'd like to take my mom to see 'mama mia' this weekend, too, but don't know if i'll have the chance.  turns out guy's class ('83)is having a mini, 25 year reunion on saturday.  a couple of guys from out of town (bobby o, e. rowlee) are going to be there and guy missed the official reunion 5 years ago, so we'll be attending.  i'm trying to work up some enthusiasm, but other than guy and bobby i really don't know any of the guys that are going to be there - and i haven't heard of any women-folk attending.  not that it would matter, cause i don't know any of them, either.  oh, did i mention it's going to be at muskie's?  at least it's a lot nicer than it used to be.  dan f. (also from that class) bought it a year or two ago and did some renovations.
