Oops - I missed posting yesterday.
Dad revealed that he had had a health scare 3 weeks ago. He'd had pains across his chest while doing his daily 3 mile walk (he's been walking 3 miles/day for the past 25 year -- he's 81) and was sweating profusely down the back of his neck. He was sans cell phone and still had a mile and a half ahead of him before he could make it home, so with lots of rest in between steps, a walk that normally takes 1 hr took 3 hrs.
The doctors say he did *not* have a heart attack, but he's now on meds for thyriod, heart and cholesterol. Prior this event, he'd NEVER been on any long-term prescribed medication - a source of pride for him. In any case, he gets a stress test the first week in August, and he has a follow up exam in ~60 days to check for any reactions to his medications and get further evaluated and we'll see what we will see...
In home news, Alexander was DELIGHTED to earn his white belt at karate camp. When he got home, he went right to Hillel to get it tied on. Very cute.
We had Shabbat dinner at Hillel's parents last night and had 3 desertions for the drive home. Sarah was upset that she didn't get to stay over as well. At least she went to sleep easily when we got home.
Saturday is looking to be a scorcher at close to 103. Looks like a great day to stay indoors....
