Lazy day today. Started working on "summer work" with Jacob yesterday and today something seemed to click. Whereas yesterday he did the math worksheet kicking and screaming, today he zipped through it and said "I'm actually starting to remember this stuff" (for the record, it was multiplication problems of any number (1 through 12) X 3). We exchanged 10 minutes of math for 30 minutes of computer time. So far it worked out well.
I'd meant to get Mali's passport photo taken today. We have a trip planned in September and her passport is out of date. However, Sarah fell asleep before we got there, and I do NOT like waking her from a nap if I can help it. So we were home-bound until dinner time. Maybe tomorrow.
In a random detour, I don't know if I've ever documented Alexander's bedtime routine. He is my easiest child to get to sleep at night. We brush teeth, put on PJs (or tomorrow's clothes if he prefers), I turn out the light and sing songs. I normally end with that perennial favorite "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" but Alexander insists I change the last line from "how I wonder what you are" to "Alexander wants to drive a train"
FWIW, for the other kids I change it to "how I love you as you are" but Alexander wants none of that. He wants to drive a train. At Dutch Wonderland. heh
