YOU GUYS! YOU GUYS! I Love You Phillip Morris is supposed to finally be released in the States in December! Hopefully, the date won't be moved for the umpteenth time and it will actually come out then! I do my happy dance!
I don't know why of all the movies I've watched recently, this is the one that's just stuck in my mind and made me love it to pieces. I guess cos it's just so sweetly adorable and managed to just hit the right level of ridiculous while still telling an enjoyable story? Idk, I've been using the word "ridiculous" a lot when telling people about the movie, and it might be the wrong word to use because of the connotation it can have? I don't mind, obviously, because I like ridiculous, and use it with great affection for this movie, but I think others will hear it and go, oh, so it's stupid. Which, totally not. Maybe "audacious" would be a better word? Like, the main character's escapes in the film are so audacious, and I really, seriously thought that they were something that could only ever happen in a movie. Because, seriously? Seriously? And then I read this interview with the real Steven Russell and NO! THEY ACTUALLY FUCKING HAPPENED. ESPECIALLY HIS LAST ESCAPE. WHERE HE FOOLS EVERYONE INTO BELIEVING THAT HE HAS AIDS AND THAT HE DIES FROM IT. WTF!
How is real life often times more unbelievable than fiction?
