The Art world. It's like movies, in a way.

So, in my Abstract studio today, Frank was telling us about the 32 new Pollocks that have been discovered. I asked if the discovery would affect the cost of other Pollocks, and he was, like, yes, depending on what critics thought of the new paintings. He then went on to say that it was like (paraphrasing here) "that new Ridley Scott movie, Kingdom of Heaven, which is so bad that it drags down his good movies, like Gladiator and Alien, with it." And I'm cracking up, quietly, but just had to chirp in with: "Or it could be like the new Star Wars movies, which are so bad that the Original Trilogy are absolutely genius when compared to them."

...

Yeah. I never thought I'd be comparing George Lucas's movies to Jackson Pollock's paintings, either.

ETA: Alias and Smallville will be on at the same time next season. Is it bad that my first thought isn't "omigod how will I decide what to watch?!?!" but "huh. alright then. *wanders away*"?

tv: alias, art, tv: misc, movies
