Troy Davis Executed

I'm sad to announce that Georgia executed Troy Davis yesterday (Wednesday, Sept 21, 2011) at 11 pm. Much doubt surrounded his case, including sworn affidavits from witnesses who said they were coerced into testifying against him. The circumstances look especially grim given that Troy Davis was an African American man accused of killing a Euro-American police officer. Even if Troy Davis did indeed kill the police officer, neither he nor anyone else should ever be executed. Killing is wrong, even when committed by the state.
