L and I celebated Beltaine with the local Druid circle. I love the May pole. It's always my favorite part of the holiday (and no giggling in the background, there!). My favorite holiday, however, is Ostara, but Imbolc and Beltaine are really good, too. This celebration was in the forest in a local nature preserve, which is way better than having ritual inside as we've had to do for the past few months. When I was in Britain, the local Pagans laughed as us Americans for insisting on going outside for ritual in the winter, so I feel it is perfectly authentic to be inside during the cold months for ritual. However, ritual outside feels much more real, as if I can better connect with Spirit that way.
Later on Saturday L and I washed the dogs. They really needed it! Unfortunately, this meant we also washed ourselves and the entire bathroom in the process. Aidan kept trying to hide his head under my arm because he hates baths so much as is sure that the soft-hearted mother will rescue him. :)
