Nintendo announced Wednesday that the Wii U eShop title, Pokémon Rumble U, will be released to North America this August while also revealing that the toys for the game will only be available at GameStop.
Pokémon Rumble U will be released to the Wii U eShop on Aug. 29, 2013 for $17.99. The title is the first to use the GamePad’s Near Field Communication (NFC) sensor which will allow players to import the toy characters they’ve purchased directly into the game.
While the game comes with 649 Pokémon characters, the toy figures scanned into the game can be upgraded by using Coins that have been earned. Players can even change moves, add a Special Trait to their NFC Figure and save in-game data so you can take it wherever they go. Some of the 18 first wave of figures include Pikachu, Victini, Deoxys (Normal Forme), Eevee, and Genesect and will be exclusively sold at GameStop for $3.99 each.
