(no subject)
Had a phone conversation with my sister awhile ago that I figure is now safe to post, spoiler free, only because any Marvel fangirl or boy should know this by now.
If I recall correctly, I was woken by the ringing of my telephone one early morning during my sister's commute to work. After the common good morning, how are you pleasantries, she told me her breaking news.
Sis: "I heard they killed off Captain Planet today." A hint of pride in her voice for knowing something about Marvel without my prompting.
Me: *with sleep still in my voice* "What?"
Sis: "Yeah, so apparently he wasn't politically correct enough or something." Her voice is gaining excitement because she knows something regarding 'geek' stuff that her older sister doesn't.
Me: *quickly waking up* "You can't get anymore PC than Captain Planet."
Sis: "Well, I'm just telling you what I heard on the radio. Marvel killed him." Her grin is now audible.
Me: "Marvel doesn't own Captain Planet." *pause* "Do you mean Captain America?"
Sis: *another pause* "There's another Captain?"
