So, I'm about to get involved (in the loosest possible way) in an arts project in Sandwell (part of the West Midlands conurbation) involving very short stories. Apparantly, Hemingway claimed you could write a story in only six words, and illustrated his point very poignantly:

For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

I haven't managed to come up with one of my own yet, but the idea is intriguing.
