“Ahjumma, can we get another round of meat?” asked ShinDong. The woman nodded and hurried back into the kitchen.
“So how’s your head doing?” asked EunHyuk as he wrapped himself up another ssam.
“It still hurts,” mumbled SiWon as he began to push his rice around his metal bowl, letting his wooden chopsticks scrape the bottom.
“Well just remember, you’re paying for my meal,” said EunHyuk as he stuffed the wrap of lettuce, pork and rice into his mouth.
“So SungMin, why’d you transfer to Seoul?” asked ShinDong as he began to place the new plate of meat onto the grill. The meat immediately began to sizzle as it touched the black surface. Steam could be seen rising from every table in the restaurant as eager faces peered at the meat, poking and turning them to see if they were done.
“No particular reason,” said SungMin. “But I’m glad I did.”
“Are you even hungry?” asked EeTeuk as he looked across the table at DongHae.
“Of course,” he replied. “I’m starving.” But the lid to his rice bowl was left untouched and his chopsticks had yet to be removed from their paper covering. Rolling his eyes, EeTeuk grabbed a piece of lettuce and began to fill it up for DongHae. Sometimes that boy really didn’t know when he was out of it. Quickly he nudged DongHae’s leg from under the table and held up the food to his lips as he turned his head. Staring at it for a moment, DongHae finally opened his mouth and took the monstrous thing from EeTeuk’s hands. It took him several moments before he could put the whole thing into his mouth and chew it.
“Do you want me to take you over after?” asked EeTeuk as he began to make a wrap for himself.
DongHae had his fingers pressed to his lips as he tried to finish up the large portion EeTeuk had stuffed into his mouth. He slowly shook his head back and forth while trying to drink down a cup of water. A small dribble of water leaked from the corner of his mouth as he finally swallowed his food. After a small fit of coughing, he took the sleeve of his shirt and wiped at his chin. “No,” he finally managed to say. “And I think I’ll make my own ssam from now on.”
“Oh I don’t know,” said EeTeuk playfully as he leaned across the table towards DongHae. “I always thought you had a big mouth.” DongHae nearly coughed up the water he was trying to drink all over the table and EeTeuk at this comment, but managed to contain it so that all he did was sputter it back up into the cup. Wiping at his mouth again, he glared in EeTeuk’s direction while trying to hide the hint of red that began to spread over his face.
“What are you two doing over there?” asked EeTeuk as he glanced over at them from past ShinDong’s body.
“Nothing,” replied DongHae as he shooed the boy away. EeTeuk innocently placed his food into his mouth and smiled in DongHae’s direction. “and like I was saying before, you have afternoon classes so I’ll just take the bus.” EeTeuk snorted in amusement as DongHae kicked his feet away and glared at him from across the table.

DongHae stood hesitantly outside. YeSung’s office wasn’t that big, rather small actually with a small waiting room that was viewable from the glass doors and then his office lied a little beyond that. He didn’t have a secretary, because he didn’t see the point in having one when he really didn’t have that many patients in the first place. He had chosen his career path early in life and college had passed rather quickly for him. So here he was at twenty-four with his own building and patients and everything.
Taking a deep breath, he opened the door into the quiet building and glanced around. He knocked several times on the wooden door, but there was no response. Waiting for another second or so, he finally just opened the door. The sound of people shuffling around inside was suddenly heard and then DongHae was almost knocked off his feet as a tall, gangly, dark-haired boy sprinted past him while muttering a quick goodbye to YeSung who was sitting on the black couch. DongHae opened the door a little more and shook his head at YeSung, who was running his fingers through his hair and was attempting to fix his collar and tie. “You scared him away,” said YeSung sadly as he sighed.
“Who was that?” asked DongHae as he shut the door.
“KyuHyun,” said YeSung as he grinned. “a new patient.”
“Right,” said DongHae. “Do you always sleep with your new patients?”
“Of course not,” said YeSung as he laughed. “I didn’t sleep with you and technically, I haven’t slept with him yet.”
“Oh, funny,” said DongHae as he placed his jacket on the coat rack.
YeSung threw his tie onto his desk, finally giving up on trying to fix it. Plus, it didn’t really matter if he looked professional in front of DongHae. He dragged the chair that had been pushed into a wall closer to the couch as he motioned for DongHae to sit down.
“I don’t know if I should,” said DongHae as he looked warily at the dark material.
“Shut up and sit down,” said YeSung as he pulled a face at DongHae. “It’s not like we actually did anything on it.”
DongHae finally slumped down into the couch, half-lying and half-sitting. He never felt comfortable lying down in open spaces, even if it was just YeSung in the room. Clasping his hands over his stomach, he turned his head to glance at an empty space on the wall.
“So what happened this time?” asked YeSung.
“Nightmare.”
“I thought you stopped having them.”
“Yeah, I thought so too. But this isn’t the first time I’ve been wrong about things. Has it?”
