[MOD] New Joining Process + Rules on Subbed Videos
Two things from us, mods, for today! :)
First, Membership Process.
As what you've already read in the title, we have changed the process in joining the community. Effective today, aspiring members are NO LONGER REQUIRED TO SUBMIT AN INTRODUCTION COMMENT. Yes, you've read it right. We, mods of JE Yosai, have been having a hard time checking each comments before accepting memberships. As of now, we are quite busy with RL stuff and checking each comments eats up a lot of time. For us to have more time in doing other things: such as subbing videos, translating, etc, we've decided to remove the 'introduction comment' in the joining process.
je_yosai is still a close community. Aspiring members just need to click JOIN and wait for our approval. Again, NO NEED to drop introduction comments on our Introduction Post.
However, for the community's safety, we will not be accepting everybody who applies for membership. We will be screening each account base on the following:
1. The account must be active.
There should be entries that would at least inform us that the account is not a sock/poser account. (eg. introduction post, etc)
2. Facebook, twitter or other secondary accounts will be accepted provided it is an active account.
Similar to the explanation to rule#1, we will be checking if you have an active account by looking over through your posts. For accounts that are friend-locked, we advice you to keep your account public until we have accepted your membership.
Failure to comply with these rules means rejection to join the community. You may contact any of the mods if you believe you've complied to the rules and was rejected. Don't worry, we don't bite ;)
Second, Fansubbing rules
This community, je_yosai, is an all-around community. Meaning, we share here files such as scans, raw videos, magazine translations as well as English subbed video. Considering that we've been taking up a lot of subbing projects recently, we've felt that it is necessary to put up a more specific rules regarding subbed videos.
RULES:
1. Always leave a comment if taking a file.
Not only for subbed videos, this rule applies to any kind of file available in the community. A simple 'thank you', 'thanks', 'taking' is enough for us to keep track of those who take our files and at the same time it keeps us motivated in continuing our work.
2. Strictly NO Hot-linking of download links.
Instead of giving away the direct download links, we STRICTLY advise you to just direct your friends or whoever you want to share the files with to the community entry.
3. Selling and distributing of subbed videos for commercial use is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
This is a fansubbing community. Our subbing team are working on these projects in our own free time for free. We do not get any monetary compensation for subbing videos and earning money out of other people's hardwork is definitely unethical. Cases of subbing communities closing down because of selling subbed videos has happened a lot in the past and we do not want our community to end up like this.
4. Re-uploading to streaming sites such Youtube, Veoh, Facebook, Tumblr, etc, is OKAY.
No need to credit us and we definitely do NOT recommend linking our community if you re-upload our subbed videos. This will risk our community because we all know that fansubbing and uploading these videos is illegal as we do not have any copyright claims for any of these coming from their respective TV stations. Just the watermark 'je-yosai' is enough proof to us that it was our own work and no one can claim them as their own.
5. We do NOT release soft subs.
Please do not ask us to send you softsubbed files because we will not entertain you. Soft subbed files can be easily edited and we don't want our works be altered or edited by someone who do not belong to our subbing team. We will only be releasing soft subbed files for special cases (eg. problems with raw file, uploading, etc). Other than these circumstances, please do not expect us to give away our soft subbed files.
6. Members who will be caught breaking these rules will be immediately banned to the community.
No more warnings and explanations needed for this.^^
