I love that Miwa has been persisting and hoping for YEARS now, because that feels right. He's so oblivious but he also gives hope all the time--as well as just being too damn attractive to resist for rational reasons. I can also totally see her giving herself (and him, though he doesn't know) an ultimatum, jfldksfjslka, especially since three years is a LONG TIME.

He caught her eye and gave her one of those "I see you but I can't talk" smiles, the smiles that had been her undoing for so damn long now.
HE IS SUCH AN OVERWHELMING HUMAN BEING, AUGH. <3<3

But had Sasakura Ryu just had some sort of physical reaction to seeing Miwa-made chocolates in Danny's hand?

Initially this was going to take place a bit earlier after the drama ended, but it's been years so it seemed fun to just imagine them in this odd sort of friendship limbo for this long :)

Since the drama aired I wanted a 'Ryu and Miwa make cocktails together' scene so a lot of this story was also wish fulfillment. Oh we authors can be selfish, can't we? ;)
