Bem meets her eyes, his gaze serious yet earnest at the same time. “We can give him this,” he replies.

OMG!!! This was so great, I loved it! The characterizations for Bem, Bela, and Belo were just so perfect, especially their lack of human understanding, Bem's patience and calm, Bela's temper...I absolutely adored this and how they slowly came to understand each other. I love their mimicking of humans and especially Bem's realization that he loves Bela as she is, not needing her to be human.
