Love is...

Akanishi Jin doesn't have the best track record in the world. The number of girls he's been with is significantly less than the number of girls he's been rumored with. Even then, he went through them like chocolate. Accepting the pretty ones who came his way, some he even liked but most had no strings attached.

He's liked someone enough to have a relationship, but he avoided that as much as possible. They typically ended with someone heartbroken and the other one guilty, in which he's played both roles.

This type of lifestyle he's been living has really started to weigh down on him. Maybe it came with getting older, with becoming more mature, but the chase was no longer fun and those good feelings numb down to nothing. The more time passed by the more he finds wrong with every girl that comes his way, finding a reason to say no.

This is a sign from the high gods, telling him it is time to settle down. Fall in love, get married, and start a family. For Johnny's, this is never an easy task. Especially for one as popular as he. That did not stop him from telling the world he's looking forward to marriage.

But in order to get married, he had to fall in love first.

-

He met her years back when she first worked with Kame when they were both on a variety show of sorts, but other than a quick introduction, that's all that there had ever been between them.

The next time he meets her is at a party. He sees her when he first shows up and she smiling brightly with the people surrounding her, including Yamapi. Seeing her in person is nothing like seeing her on television, she is ten times prettier without so much stuff on her face. Yamapi reintroduces her, "Jin, you remember Meisa, right?", and he knows the moment he shakes her hand, he feels something for her.

"Ah, Akanishi-san, our paths don't cross enough." She tells him and he agrees, immediately following up with, "We should get together some time."

And surprisingly, she agrees.

--

He knows he likes her and that she possibly feels the same way.

On their second date, she takes him to a guitar store, asking him to play one of the songs from his recently released movie, Bandage. After playing Genki, she looks at him with genuine awe and he only gives her enough time to say, "that song is beautiful" before he's kissing her for the first time.

When she reaches up to pull him closer, the feeling of relief and joy cannot be contained, so he pours it all into their kiss.

--

A month later, he goes to his mabudachis for advice, randomly throwing out the question, "what is love?"

After finally getting them to stop laughing and proving that he is serious, each one of them gave him their own opinion to share.

-

Toma says, "Love is missing her when she's only in the other room."

Toma had always been a softy. Missing someone when she's with him? That's too much already. But Jin misses Meisa all the time. Like when they are on opposite sides of the country. When he's working late or when she's working late.

He wants to see her everyday, but with their schedules, that is impossible. And that's when he misses her the most.

After a long day, photo shoots and rehearsal running over time, he makes it home defeated, knowing it is too late to go out and see her. He drops on his couch, pulling his cellphone out to text her goodnight, knowing that he'd wake her up if he called.

He thought twice about it though, wondering if he should just be selfish and call her because he really wants to hear her voice but instead he sticks to sending a quick, 'I miss you. Goodnight.'

Deciding it's time for him to retire as well, he drags himself to his room, opening the door to find Meisa sleepily checking her cellphone.

The first thing he thinks of is Toma's advice and he knows that this is not what he meant. But when he falls on the bed next her, wrapping her up in his arms, he thinks Toma might be right.

Ryo says, "Love is trust."

Ryo ignored him the first time he asked what love is. It isn't until Yuu gives his input when Ryo suddenly intervenes, smaking him in the head. "Stop being such a pervert." It surprises Jin when Ryo turns to him, like an old jii-chan lecturing to the young about his experiences, and tells him, "In this business, trust is important."

Akanishi Jin back with ex-girlfriend...?

He'd already been dating Meisa for a month and rumours were already making rounds, so how the hell this became a headline confuses him to the max. Apparently, after more research from his "people", his recent ex-girlfriend decided to go crazy and tell the world they were back together.

First thing that came to mind is pain. It's a headache to have crazy ex-girlfriends. Especially this one, who he dated more than a year ago.

Second thing that came to mind, and should've been the first, is Meisa. She undoubtedly knows the kind of reputation he has, mentioning it at convenient times, like when he's jealous about her co-star.

He calls her immediately, preparing for the worst, and his heart drops down into his stomach when she picks up right away, "People told me I have to be stupid to trust you."

She hangs up before he even has a chance to defend himself. He is too angry to do anything else that day, so he mopes around in Yamapi's apartment eating his food and reading his manga.

Yamapi is not surprised to find Jin sprawled out on his bed, chips and a half-open Dragon Ball Z volume 10 around him when he comes home from work. However, it's past midnight and he has to be at work again tomorrow five o'clock in the morning, so he forces Jin to clean up his mess and then literally kicks him out the door.

Jin drags his feet on the way home, rubbing his sore back, checking his phone for any messages. There is only one, and it's from Meisa.

[ I'm stupid. ]

-

Yuu says, "Love is still fantasizing about her even after sleeping with her."

After he received the text from Meisa, he ran to her place. She answers the door after his first knock, flinging herself at him and he welcomes her apologetic kisses. "Sorry", she tells his neck, over and over again. He closes the door with his foot, picks her up and wraps her legs around his waist so he can get to her room as fast as possible.

Just as he manages to kick his shoes off in the foyer, Meisa takes a experimental nibble at his collarbone. Jin thrusts back in surprise and fright, dropping her in the process, and slams into the door. She looks up to him, sitting on one of his boots, laughing while rubbing her bottom. She should've been mad that he dropped her so hard, but the noise he made was more than worth a sore bum.

Something in between a cat's meow and a dog's bark, she describes to him when he asks her what was so funny. He helps her to her feet and back in his arms, punishing her with his lips. "That wasn't funny. Please, god, don't do it again."

She's still giggling, leaning her head back when he returns the favor to her neck, "Say it again."

"What?"

They drop on her bed and she crawls backwards, watching him shed layers until he's down to his jeans. He climbs over and her arms wrap around his neck. "Call me God." She whispers when she pulls him down for a kiss.

An hour later, he's sitting up against the bed frame, watching her fix them a drink through the open door of her room. He reflects over their recent activity, the sight of her bare legs already turning him on again. She's wearing his sweater she picked up off of the floor before she went out and it's like watching his own fantasy come to life.

He remember what Yuu said when she's walking towards him with their drinks, and disagrees with him.

He doesn't even want to fantasize about her after, he just wants to do it again.

-

Yamapi says, "Love is brushing your teeth together."

Meisa turns over next to him, raising her arms in front of her in a stretch. "G'morning." He tells her, leaning down for a kiss. She smiles against his lips, her fingers threading through his hair.

"Ah, it's so short now. I liked your long hair." She frowns, tugging on the end of the strands. Jin doesn't respond, just kisses her again. He presses closer, moving over to cover her with his body. Meisa breaks the kiss with a sleeply moan, "Hmmmm, is this my first anniversary present?"

"Yes," Jin answers quickly, kissing her again. "So shut up."

She breaks away from him again, "Hmm, we should eat breakfast first." Then she pushes him off of her, leaving him to whine by himself. "You suck!" He yells after her, following her into the bathroom. She hands him his toothbrush set with toothpaste before turning back to face the mirror as she brushes her own teeth. Jin watches her from the door frame and smiles, the bubbles from the paste dripping down his chin.

It's warm in his chest, he just loves the way she looks in his their bathroom in the morning, as if she she'd been there all this time. This is their second day living together. He finally convinced her to move in with him a week ago as they approached their first year anniversary.

"Wha?" She asks, toothbrush hanging out of her mouth, looking at him in the mirror. Jin pushes himself off of the door frame taking those few steps next to her. It's quiet in the bathroom but the sound of the brushes on their teeth. The reflection in the mirror of the two of them, barely clothed, with classic bedhead, sleepy eyes and toothbrushes swishing side to side, reminds him of those words Yamapi told him a year back.

He never understood what Yamapi meant that day, even took it as a joke as Yamapi didn't even try to explain it either. He could remember the smile on Yamapi's face and remembers slapping Yamapi for not being serious. Apparently he misinterpreted that smile.

-

Jin says, "Love is having a drink with his mabudachis and then coming home to the girl of his fantasies that he missed all night, trusting that dinner is waiting for him that he'll brush away with her right before he goes to sleep."

Yamapi is the closest, so he does the honor of slapping Jin in the back of the head, "That's too long, baka."

Either way, whatever the definition, Jin knows he's in love.

One down, two more to go.

1.) Fall in Love

2.) Get Married

3.) Have Kids
