Now I know JE fandom is centered around pretty boys that fans find attractive and that attraction leads to the desire to do other things or whatever. I get that. I'm pretty sure that JE and the boys get that too- they eat off the money they make for being ridiculously good looking. And as fans, there is nothing wrong with finding them good looking, wanting to marry them, or whatever your fangirl daydreams consist of.
But can we get something straight people? Saying things like "OMG I JUST WANT TO RAPE HIM!!!!!" is NOT CUTE. I really don't care how big of a fangirl frenzy you've worked yourself up into. There is no excuse to wish to commit an act of sexual violence against someone you claim to be a fan of.
And please, don't try to justify the usage with slang. There are other ways to say that you'd just like to run up to them makeout with your idol of choice without being horrifically vulgar and creepy and insensitive. "Pounce" is a good, random sound effects like *RAWR!* get your point across very clearly. C'mon fandom be a little more creative in your word choice when you spazz. Don't just go straight for things that literally translate to: "Gee, I think he is so handsome I just want to FORCE HIM TO HAVE NON-CONSENUAL SEX WITH ME. ITS NOT SOMETHING HE WANTS TO DO NOR WILL HE PARTICULARLY ENJOY, BUT I WANT IT SO I'M JUST GOING TO TAKE IT". It doesn't make you look cute, or sexy or like a die-hard fan. It makes you sound creepy or just ignorant of the weight of what that word carries- and really, is either a good thing?
Call me hyper-sensitive, but they say that "rape is a word with a face" and for a lot of people that is very true. Its not something that can be taken lightly, there are millions of stories and an unquantifiable amount of pain attached to that word for millions of people. It's a crime that can pretty much destroy you on both a physical and psychological level. And to have people just throwing it around, wishing it on people, desiring to commit it themselves (by what they say at least) I think is just disgusting.
At the very least, think of it this way. If you were approached by some strange guy who totally spazzed at the sight of you and screamed things like "I JUST WANT TO RAPE YOU!" you'd want him put in prison. Just because the vast majority of us are girls, doesn't mean we can say things like that and turn it into something cute and harmless. If a man and a woman each kill a person in cold-blood in their homes- you still call both cases murder you don't sugarcoat the woman's case just simply because of her gender. And as females, being the gender that's subjected to the bulk of most rapes, you'd think we'd have the sense not to go around acting like we want to commit it ourselves, knowing the damage it can do.
I really, really, really, REALLY wish I didn't have to bitch about stuff like this.
