[mod] JE Philippines is selling chari-tee shirts!
Hello, everyone!
In line with our upcoming JE Gathering on May 26 (again, you can check our Facebook events page for updates), we will be selling our 50th anniversary JE chari-tee shirt!
Why chari-tee shirt? Remember last year, when we donated the proceeds of our JE Gathering to Red Cross Japan’s earthquake and tsunami relief effort? Once again, we’re planning to donate our proceeds to another cause.
And this time, it will be for the Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health - Philippines (VYLH - Philippines), “a network of leaders from the different youth organization based in universities and communities around the Philippines.” Its advocacy includes Folic Acid Awareness Campaign, Newborn Screening Promotion, and Orphan Disorders Support.
A part of the Orphan Disorder Support is a signature and petition campaign for a Rare Disease Act of the Philippines. If enacted, this will "help provide patients with rare diseases better access to adequate medical care, health information, and healthcare products needed to treat their conditions. It establishes a system to coordinate a sustainable research & development initiatives and resource generation efforts among relevant agencies of government and private sector toward improving the quality of life of patients with rare diseases and their families."
