So they were going out to dinner with Anna - Ray's temporary partner from back when Kowalski was stabbed - and her girlfriend Lila. Personally, Ray wondered if it was such a good idea.
That hadn't stopped him from teasing the hell out of Kowalski, reminding him every second he could about how jealous Kowalski had been, thinking Ray would leave him for Anna. He only shut up about it once Kowalski reminded him of the time Ray had been stupidly jealous over Kowalski flirting with a cashier, and also the whole Anna thing had finally gotten Ray to say he loved Kowalski.
Ray mumbled that Kowalski could thank Anna, then, and they went back to eating.
So plans had been settled, and they were going to meet up at one of Ray's favorite restaurants, which meant the way Kowalski was trying to dress wasn't going to fly. It wasn't exactly a fancy place, but it was nicer than the usual take-out/fast food/sports bars they went to.
"Seriously?" he asked, poking at Kowalski's bicep. Could the guy's shirt be any tighter? "You want me to get that eyeliner for you, too?"
