It was stupid. It was crazy and stupid and what the hell was wrong with people that they couldn't see it was an open and shut case? The guy - Branson, it was obvious that he did it, that he killed that girl. but no. The jury was obviously blind and maybe deaf too, because they sure weren't paying attention to what was going on right in front of their faces.
Christ, it was like the Carver thing all over again, except at least Branson wasn't that much of a psychopath. Still, Ray couldn't help but wonder, worry.
The jackass got off on a technicality. A stupid, crazy little insignificant detail that Fraser never would have missed. So yeah, Ray was in a bad mood when he left the courthouse, and he was supposed to stop by Kowalski's, but instead he just went home.
