I’m so so so so happy to receive Yama Pair! Nothing like a warm and fuzzy combo to get me in the holiday spirit! I really hadn’t expected to get them, so it’s such a lovely surprise! Also I’m really happy to have my neighbors prompt fulfilled. Maybe because their doors were next to each other in Share House, it just makes sense to be mega happy about Yama neighbors~!

I really enjoyed this so much. I really felt for Sho as the pre-packaged idol singing other people’s words, rapping about things that meant so little, because it made the journey he was able to take over the course of the story all the more meaningful. That with help from his (wonderful, amazing, ARASHI) friends he was able to finally tell his agency to shove it in favor of putting out music that had some integrity behind it. I have listened to my fair share of songs about hos myself LOL but I can understand Sho’s frustration here. Sho, grumpy and lost at the beginning and just happy and where he wants to be in the end? Yay Christmas miracle!

Ahhhh and Ohno, oh my gosh. I loved him and how he just let this dog into his life. And bless him for finding a bakery that lets him bring the dog to work! So funny, they’re not worried about a little fur in the kitchen? LOL! I love them sharing food, sharing their sandwiches and beers. Their special Thursday nights together. I just adored that Ohno had no idea who Sho was, and that Sho liked that about him - and how in the end the tables turned and it was revealed that Sho had no idea who Ohno was. Take THAT, Sho!

I really loved the inclusion of all the song lyrics/Sho’s rap lyrics, and also the one Ohno solo. I’ll admit that I haven’t seen any clips of the play that’s from but after Googling the lyrics for the full song I was all OHNO LET ME LOVE YOU I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU. I also loved the parts that Jun, Nino, and Aiba had to play in helping Sho get where he wanted to be. I loved Manager Aiba and Suck Up Kohai Jun and I Do What I Want Nino and how once they met there was magic. And then Ohno to elevate things to a whole new level. Kind of like what Ohno’s voice can do to any Arashi song!

You really touched on so many things I love about Yama here. They are not really my NC-17 pairing of choice, they’re more like my sweet old married couple of choice. I loved how they slowly got to know each other, how calming a presence Ohno was for someone so uptight and unfulfilled as Sho. I liked Ohno’s thoughtful silences, how eager he was to get closer to Sho, insisting on “Satoshi-kun” so quickly. Dear author, one of my Yama MUST HAVES is Sho saying “Satoshi-kun” because nobody else calls him that. It’s their special love, ya know! That respect and history they have.

Also I’m hoping it was intentional, but Ohno going all grabby hands for Sho’s face/neck was giving me some Hawaii Abunai Yakai realness. I love Ohno’s love for Sho and his face and everything to do with that. I love Sho being all “heyyyyy yeahhhh” for Ohno’s hands. Love Ohno’s hands too. So even though I said they’re my old people couple from Arashi, I sometimes am totally into the old people couple when they were young and flirty and fresh ;)

Thank you so much for some wonderful Yama Pair that also had some really lovely descriptions, a heartwarming conclusion, the comforting Yama neighbors-to-friendship-to-more progression, the meddlesome and delightful (and flirty as all hell at the end) Kaze to round things out. I’m so happy to have gotten this, I need to go listen to Oretachi no Song or something :)

I was so excited and happy when I got assignment and that it's you! To be honest, I was working on something that was dark in feel, but 6k in, I just didn't want to write it anymore. (Maybe I'll continue it someday!) Wanted to write something light and happy instead, and somehow, I fixated on your neighbors prompt, and here we are.

I'M JUST SO HAPPY THAT YOU LIKE IT!!!!!! Yama isn't my couple of choice to write (but I do love reading them) and to have it turn out well is awesome.

It was a blast writing Suck Up Kohai Jun. At least in this fic, I can still have that. lol

AND YES. All that hand-neck grabbing was totes derived from the Hawaii Abuna Yakai episode. Can't get that out of my head, and i knew you'd appreciate that ;D

AND OF COURSE I CAPITALIZED ON YOUR WEAKNESS FOR "SATOSHI-KUN" AHAHAHA

But yes. It was great writing for you, you lovely person you! I hope your ugly Sho calendar reminds you of this Sho character ahahahaha <3333
