I loved this. It was everything I would have wanted from this prompt and more . When my co-mod and i first decided on the prompt, I was secretly hoping that someone would take the metaphorical approach at it. And you did. So, this to me, is like a Christmas present come early. The reward for all my modding work. I am not 100% sure if this was your intention but I pretty much saw the whole fic in grayscale/faded colours with pinks and loved that image. I loved how you attached the colours to emotions, I loved how poetic the whole story sounded and I loved the Through The Looking Glass references. I also loved how it read like a closure fic for the 6 nin NEWS. Characters wise, I adored the way you wrote Shige - the insecurities and the way he is trying so hard to find a place for himself - and how he views Pi. My heart clenched at various parts of the fic and I actually had to stop to breathe a little, grab a drink before continuing. I think the beauty of this story, other than the beautiful imagery, the poetry -feel and how every single word is precious, is that it hits the emotions without being too hard. It's a little hard to explain but.. it was not a melodramatic story but it hurts I am so glad this ended happy though, or I think I will be sobbing myself to sleep.

Thank you so much. And I will definitely be reading this over and over again.

Edit: I know what this fic feels like - it feels like a gentle, slightly melancholic piano piece that leaves you wanting to replay it over and over again.
