Sho really didn’t like photo shootings. Not one bit. It wasn’t that he had to wear costumes he’d never even look at in real life. It was part of the job and he was used to that. He didn’t mind the weird instructions they got from their photographer either. (But really, how did you react to “Try to look green, please. Think green!”?) But really, all of that was part of the game. The thing that kept unsettling Sho was that he simply couldn’t compare. All of his band-mates always looked stunning on shooting pictures, while he appeared to be quite plain most of the time. He just didn’t have that kind of “camera face”. He hated it. Most of all that Jun always looked perfect. Sweet, loved, hot, sexy, perfect Jun. He could sell any image without even the slightest bit of effort. And he was still perfect. And lovable. He was attentive, sensitive and respectful. Everybody’s darling. He was… perfect. Sickeningly perfect. Sho was just glad he’d brought some reasonable distance between them. Jun had been so clingy, it had been a real pain. He knew he’d been quite rude to the boy, but at least he left him alone for the main part. If only it weren’t for those weird shooting things.

“Ah, Sakurai-kun,” their photographer called out to him, “if you will please move closer to Matsumoto-kun.”

Sho rolled his eyes. Of course…

He did as instructed. The photographer didn’t seem satisfied yet, though.

“Closer,” he kept repeating, “closer, closer, closer…” until their shoulders were pressed together. “Now, if you will put your arm around his shoulder?”

This time nothing happened. Sho frowned. Was that instruction still meant for him? Jun seemed to have similar trouble understanding what exactly they were supposed to do, because he too simply remained still.

“Sakurai-kun,” the man with the camera addressed Sho directly, “if you please.”

Sho blinked, then nodded quickly. “Okay. Sorry, I wasn’t sure if you were talking to me.”

“Do you hate me so much you wouldn’t do it without instructions?”

The words were whispered into Sho’s ear, making him feel awkward.

“You didn’t move either,” he mumbled back.

“I didn’t think you’d appreciate…”

“Oh, dammit, are you still on about that?”

Everybody stared, including Jun. Sho had burst out rather loudly. After he too realized that his reaction was a bit too strong, his face flushed slightly.

“Sorry,” he muttered, “I… I’m hungry. Can we please just finish this? I need lunch.”

“Ah, sure, Sho-kun,” Aiba nodded, giving him a timid smile. “Let’s finish this now.”

The rest of the shooting was pretty quiet. The mood, while it calmed considerably, was rather cold and so everybody was glad once the shooting was over.

“Ne, Sho-kun, wanna have lunch together?” Aiba offered.

Sho looked at him skeptically. He saw that weird glittering in the other’s eyes and he knew he’d be in for a speech he so didn’t need at the time.

“Not today, sorry,” he finally answered. “I’ve got to get home.”

“Well, okay then,” Aiba waved at him. “Some other time, then.”

“Sure.”

With that Aiba sighed and retreated. The rest of the group was leaving too and Sho was actually pretty relieved when he was finally left alone. Or so he had thought.

“Why are you always like this?”

Sho blinked as he saw that Jun had come back in, closing the door again so nobody would hear them.

“What do you mean?” Sho frowned.

“You’re just…” Jun paused, biting his lip, but then his face hardened. “Rude. You’re so rude. Why are you like that?”

The other merely shrugged. “I’m just like that.”

“I don’t get it,” Jun stated, shaking his head. “It doesn’t suit the rest of you.”

“The rest of me?”

“You know, you… oh, whatever, it’s not like you want to hear it,” the younger man waved him off.

“If you have something to say,” Sho challenged him, “then say it.”

“Okay, fine,” Jun sighed. “You are actually a flashy guy. Someone who will catch people’s attention easily. You’re smart too. You work professionally, you’re reliable and strong, witty, good-looking…”

“Is this going to be a confession?” Sho cut in.

Jun’s eyes gleamed playfully. “Would you mind?”

At that the other blinked in surprise. “What?”

“You wouldn’t like it,” Jun mumbled. “You already said you didn’t want me near you. But is it really so bad that I like you?”

“Wait, what do you mean by that now?” Sho asked, feeling slightly panicked.

“You know what it means,” the other merely shrugged. “I already told you, remember?”

“You said that you liked me,” Sho mused, “but you didn’t say it… like that.”

“Sho-kun,” Jun smiled at him genuinely, “sometimes you’re just an idiot. But then, that’s really good. Because other than that you’re completely out of reach. Simply perfect.”

At that the other stared. “Perfect…?” he repeated silently.

He blinked as Jun suddenly invaded his private space, looking into his eyes deeply.

“Picture perfect,” Jun whispered and daringly placed a quick peck on the other’s lips.

Sho could merely look after the other as he walked off. He touched his lips, wondering what that move had meant - and what he wanted it to mean.
