Round #001; Challenge #10; Submissions

Dec 18, 2008 10:39

Since my awesome co-mod is on a well-deserved vacation, I'll be posting the terrific submissions she typed up beforehand. :) Let's all pretend I'm not really late with this, okay? But then I guess you know that the deadline is kind of mutable...

Challenge10;
It's the final challenge before we enter the quarterfinals of round #001! I hope you've enjoyed yourselves up till this point. This challenge is one some may find challenging, while others not so, but outside of LIMS and icontests, it isn't something iconmakers usually attempt often. Anyway, enough of my rambling, and on to the challenge!

Scenario;
Drama roles are almost a symbol of recognition and acceptance as an idol. Regardless of the talent agency (or jimusho), it works the same way for everyone - JE idols are no exception. Directors and producers all want a cast that will bring in the audience in as easily as a sheep would follow the shepherd (if you would pardon the poor analogy). It isn't just the script, plot, acting, set, or budget which sells well. The actors and actresses have a very unique appeal, and these people who represent the faces of the production team are able to bring viewership like nothing else can.

Briefing;
For this challenge, you only have a single theme option. Depending on your interpretation of this theme, you may make your icon accordingly.
Pen is mightier than the sword: Clichéd riddles and rhymes
›› You will have to create a single text-only icon, making use of drama episode titles (in full) from the Autumn 2008 season, with a JE idol as part of the main cast (i.e. a JE idol being listed under the Cast section of wiki d-addicts).
›› Dramas accepted are Ryusei no Kizuna and Scrap Teacher.
›› You may not use photographic images in this theme. However, patterns, non-stock textures, and clipart are acceptable. Should either of the mods think that your icon has images which aren't acceptable, you may be asked to resubmit.

Deadline;
The deadline for this challenge is Monday, 22nd of December, at 8.00PM EST [-5:00 GMT].
Please use a timezone converter to ensure that you've got the right date/time.
You cannot use a bye [skip] for this challenge (and all the challenges following this one). If you do not submit your icon on time, you will be disqualified.

Submission;
Please submit with your friendly neighbourhood copy-paste box!
