On Friday, Alicia came over around noon, picked me up and we straight up headed out on an adventure. There are some waterfalls in a forest on the other side of the river that neither of us had ever seen before. They're really not all that well-documented, people can't even agree on what they're called, but I definitely wanted to see them for the first time with her. We headed out into seeming no-man's-land (read: past a town we were literally just talking about their being no reason to visit). It was gorgeous out. It was about an hour and change away, and I was excited to be going somewhere new with her. We arrived, and made the apparently very short trek to the falls - but they were something. Almost immediately, Alicia started scaling the side of them while I was shooting some photos - I got some awesome shots. Shortly thereafter, she came down, and we actually headed into an old mine under them and had a moment. It was absolutely lovely.

Afterward, I touched base with my Dad, and he let me know that the nurse had come by to discharge him from care, which is bittersweet. I really appreciated someone coming in to help him out, I hope I can arrange the same to happen again soon. He said it went well, and had me send his regards to Alicia.

From there, we ended up heading through a town I hadn't been through since probably 2007 or 2008 - and it's kinda weird. Like, not many people live there, but there's a lot of odd people - and a Walmart, somehow. Tres bizarre. Like, it's in the middle of nowhere. After that madness, we proceeded to a park preserve I hadn't done the loop in 8 years, and hadn't even been to in 5. It's actually kind of poetic, 5 years ago, I was in that area photographing, missing her with my whole soul like nobody's business, and now, I was actually there with her, during the day - what a trip! It was kind of amazing. Just, to be with her, and outside in nature, just appreciating incredible beauty (of both). Plus, I got some solid photos, and the walk was very much needed. At one point we just sat in this spot overlooking the lake for a while, while interesting people walked by, at another point, we laid out on these giant rock cliffs in the sun - it was excellent.

After that, we did have a disagreement, and I do need to listen better. But, eventually, we ended up grabbing some food from my favorite diner - on the way to where we were going to eat it, she pointed out we were going to need ketchup, so, I swung by a gas station and picked up the largest bottle they had - we got some good use out of it. From there, we headed to this sport on the riverfront, in an absolutely picturesque setting - at a park I hadn't been to since they did all sorts of restoration to it, and it was just a lovely moment, on a lovely day, with a lovely woman. Afterward, we stopped by the local Rite Aid quick to run in to pick something up for her that apparently she thought was sweet of me, (while I was inside, she ended up fake-stealing/moving my car to prank me - ha!), then headed back to my house and spent some seriously delightful time together. After all was said and done, we spent ten and a half hours together. It was beautiful.

Saturday was an international novelty holiday I started several years back, and we were doing this event on the Island for it. The original plan was to attend, but, it wasn't in the cards. As I was getting ready to head out, my Dad starting having some serious health issues - like, completely fading out. It was surreal. I called the EMTs and they said he needed to be checked out immediately. They took him to the hospital, and Alicia was a doll, and brought me there, as seeing him almost entirely non-responsive really affected me. She dropped me off, I talked with all the nurses, techs, doctors, etc, and my Dad had a bunch of tests run and was given fluids. Meanwhile, Sara and her dad were at the event on the Island that Alicia and I were supposed to be at, it was sold out and apparently there were cheers and claps when my friend did the intro for it. While we were waiting to find out the results, I was doing a little bit of managing of the "holiday" from my phone. A couple hours later, my Dad suggested I get going until they know what's going on, so Alicia picked me up and we headed back to the house for a bit. In reaction to the event I organized, my childhood hero started blowing up my phone, which ironically sucked - like, I'm doing work for him, and it's critical for my role in the upcoming production, but at the same time, my love is right there. I felt so bad. Never making that mistake again. Work can wait. She ended up having to get going. Later on, around midnight Sara got in touch saying she was returning to the shore and sent me a bunch of pics and videos from the event - seems like people dug it! After that, I headed back to the hospital when they felt like they determined that my Dad was suffering from dehydration. After some bad noise, I helped him get to bed, and we called it a night. This actual hospital visit was one of our shortest yet... like... only 5 hours, I think? Yeah. I think so.

Sunday, she surprised me during the day, saying she was buying me something. A few hours later, she arrived bearing a brand new trash can for my room - and some boxes of liners for it. How sweet and thoughtful and useful... seriously. Like... I can't recall the last time someone got me something I legitimately could use so frequently. It was seriously super sweet. And it does sound totally fucked up, but every time I use it, I think of her kindness - I don't know have a whole lot of people in my life who would care that much. We spent a few hours with each other talking and cuddling - it was just delightful. When it was time for her to head out, we said our goodbyes. I ended up calling her for the last two hours of her ride back. Gosh, I love her.
