A/N: This fiction is based of the anime Wolf's Rain.

The two men looked up to see a train roar past them. The black haired man gently stroked the golden hair of the small boy on his lap when he slightly twitched from the noise in his sleep. It was quiet before and ever after the train had long since turned the corner.

"What are we going to do now?" The black haired man whispered.

Yunho looked over at his friend, his mind flashing with the images of his burning home. "I don't know, Jaejoong..."

It was quiet then, the three boys keeping to themselves. The only sounds were Yunho's old tennis shoes squeaking on the floor from his inconsistent pacing and the little boys gentle breathing.

A old woman sat down on the bench when another train went by, this one stopping and letting off a handful of people. She quietly shuffled through her bag to get a small piece of paper. After reading it she returned it to her floral patterned bag and looked around at the boys also in the station.

"Hello, dear." She smiled at Jaejoong when the black haired man was caught staring at her.

"Hello," He whispered back. The woman smiled, looking from Jaejoong's nervous face to the little bundle of dirty clothing and light brown hair curled in his lap.

"Oh," She gasped in a low whisper so as not to wake the kid. "He is precious!"

Jaejoong stroked the gold hair. "Thank you."

"Is he yours?"

"No," The word fell from Jaejoong's mouth without him really thinking about it and it made him and Yunho stiffen."He is our friend's son," Jaejoong whispered as the woman leaned closer in to look at the boy.
 "we are just watching him."

She smiled and leaned back. "Well he is an angel." Jaejoong nodded and thanked her again for the compliment before silence overthrew everything.

A small car pulled up in the parking lot outside of the old station and the woman slowly made her way out to it. When the car had vanished down the rode Yunho sat down next to the other man on the bench.

"'Just watching him'?" He sighed.

"Well, what would you rather of had me say?"

Yunho moaned and stretched his arms out forward. "That we are a gay couple?"

Jaejoong smiled and playfully pushed the others arm. "She would of started screaming and woken up Changmin."

Yunho smirked but didn't say anything more.

"So," Jaejoong looked in the others eyes. "What are we going to do?"

"Didn't you ask that earlier?" Yunho groaned.

"Yes I did, but you didn't answer it then."

"Crap," Yunho rubbed at the back of his head. "Well, I think the first thing we need to do is get to a town."

"A town?"

"Yeah, just a place with food and shelter."

"How do you plan on getting to a town?" Jaejoong asked.

"Train," Yunho motioned to the tracks. "But I have no idea how to do that."

Jaejoong bit his lip as he though about how they could possibility get on the train. "We could jump on it, you know on those little platforms sticking out from the back?"

"Yeah, that's a good idea." Yunho nodded. "Will you carry Changmin?"

"No," Jaejoong shook his head. "He can run by himself."

"OK," Yunho stood up from the bench. "I'm going to go look around and see if anyone is here."

Jaejoong told him to be careful and watched as the chestnut haired man shoved his hands in his pockets and walked away to examine a broken down food stand.

"Changmin," Jaejoong sang into the little boy's ear, tugging at his skinny arm at the same time. "Its time to get up."

"Jae-hyung?" The boy yawned. He stretched out his arms and legs to relieve the stiffness of sleeping. "Where are we?" He groaned.

"We are at the train station next to our home, the plan is to jump on a train and go to a near by town." Jaejoong steadied the boy when his stretching almost made him fall off his lap.

"Why?" Changmin asked.

"You know why." Jaejoong looked away.

Changmin crawled off of Jaejoong's lap to sit on the bench by himself.

"We are never going home again, are we?" Jaejoong nodded.

"Every one in our pack is dead, aren't they?" Jaejoong nodded again and felt the pressure of tears at the back of his eyes.

"Including my mom?"

Jaejoong raised his head towards the sky in an attempt to make the tears fall back. "I'm sorry," He whispered, he was trying to make his voice strong for Changmin.

"It okay, she was old anyway." Changmin smiled at him, every tooth showing and his eyes mismatched. Jaejoong smiled back, and for a moment it felt as if their home hadn't been burnt down and that their family and friends hadn't been killed. It felt like perfection, until the thunderous roar of a train broke their eye contact.

Yunho ran up the bench from behind the ticket booth. "Were alone," He told Jaejoong when the other had looked at him for the report. Jaejoong and Changmin nodded and the three walked up to the edge of the platform just as the train had turned to the tracks leading up top the station. Its metal body was going at top speed with no intention of slowing down.

The three stood no more than a foot away from the train when it went past them. Yunho had his hands on Changmin's shoulder and Jaejoong was smiling at the train in a sad attempt to make them look less suspicious.

As soon as the last car has zoomed past them, the three boys jolted onto the tracks after it.

Twelve paws hit the unkempt tracks running. It didn't take long for the wolves to catch up to the old train. Within the minute, Jaejoong had already jumped flawlessly up on the platform jutting out from the back. Yunho joined him seconds after.

The two men looked back at Changmin. The smaller Wolf's paws were pushing fast and he was only inches away from the exact place where he needed to jump from to get on the platform.

"Jump!" Jaejoong ordered him and Changmin launched himself up towards the platform. He came up a few inches short and would of fallen hard back onto the tracks if Yunho had not clamped around his small muzzle with his own. The brown wolf gently pulled the golden one through the widely spaced bars and on the platform, only letting go when the small wolf safely had his backside on the cold iron floor.

"Gross!" Changmin wined as he wiped Yunho's saliva from his nose. "Why did you do that?"

"It was that or you miss the train." Yunho smirked. "I was just helping you."

"Well next time can't you grab my leg or something?"

"Your muzzle was closer." Yunho shrugged and Jaejoong had to give Changmin the death glare for the boy not to jump on him.

"What matters is that we are all safe and going to find a new home." Jaejoong scolded them.

Yunho nodded.

"Where are we going?" Changmin asked.

"The next town that this train stops at." Yunho answered before Jaejoong could.

Changmin looked back at the forest slowly turning into nothing but a blurry green blob behind them, his eyebrows knotted together in thought. "Are we going to live there?"

"No," Jaejoong shook his head and pulled the boy to lean on him.

"Where will we live then?" Changmin asked as he cuddled up against the raven haired mans strong arm. Jaejoong looked up at Yunho. The man turned from the sight of the forest he had been caught up in just as the other had and smiled at the two other survivors.

"Paradise," He said.
A/N: I hope this will help clear up some things I left hanging in the prologue.
