When Hey!Say!JUMP!'s debut is announced, Hashimoto cries. Takaki hugs him, tries to comfort him about it, but the damage is done. Ya-Ya-Yah looks pretty shocked too but Hashimoto doesn't care about them. He's going to lose them, his friends, because there's no way J.J.Express will stay together now.
Kamei takes a shot at comforting him too but it's about as pointless as Takaki's attempt. They share an awkward look.
"I'll take care of him," Takaki says after a moment.
Kamei nods, turns to grip Hasshi by the shoulders. "You'll make them love you, Hasshi. I know you can do it."

Yamada gets shuffled from group to group. More precisely, he can't seem to keep a group. Kamei gets fired pretty soon and Nozawa replaces him. Yamada grows to hate watching Sanada and Nozawa dance around each other. He wishes they would confess. But before the flirtation can reach a satisfying climax, he gets lumped in with A.B.C, changing their name to A.B.C.-Z.
He doesn't like all the acrobatics and complains the next time he's in Hey!Say!JUMP!'s room. Hashimoto listens, looking intrigued. "Uwaaa, cool!"
Really, Yamada wishes Hashimoto would be smug about it. It would make it easier to hate him.

Yamada's somewhat in shock when he's picked for the new project because that makes it Chinen, Nakayama and himself. Two juniors (because he doesn't count Nakayama as debuted) and... Chinen. Still, it gives him a break from A.B.C., who he knows mean well (mostly) but who just rub him the wrong way. Especially Goseki, who seems to think he's a pet.
"I bet you'll get to debut. Then we can compete again!" Hashimoto says cheerfully, ambushing Yamada at a vending machine.
Yamada grins. Oh yes, the competition will be back. "I'll beat you."
"If you say so!" Hashimoto keeps beaming.
