There’s nothing heroic about the yellow ranger.
Ryo always pouts really hard hearing that. He’s (not so secretly anymore) proud to be one.
Maybe the helmet is a bit handy. Ueda puts it on top of his fuzzy head. As handy as any hat.
Handy doesn’t mean heroic either.
“Get going already,” Ryo huffs from the genkan and pulls Ueda away from the mirror.
Yellow ranger is joined by the blue and green one, and it still doesn’t look heroic. Only the children from the care center are laughing and pointing. They’re happy.
“See,” Ryo mutters later. And Ueda does.

Kame's smoldering looks literally make women’s panties drop that morning. Junno’s puns make people fall of their chairs. When Koki rhymes, people around him rap in reply. Ueda’s wide smile almost makes their manager blind, so they start distributing Jin’s old, forgotten pairs of sunglasses at the door to their dressing room.
When Nakamaru beatboxes, nothing happens. He looks around the room, confused and hurt.
“Stop it,” Ueda says to him later when he catches Nakamaru trying it again. He doesn’t, so Ueda places Nakamaru’s palm over his heart. Ueda’s heart beats to Nakamaru’s rhythm. It’s the best superpower ever.
