Abe sheltered with a host of other festival-goers underneath the awnings of one of the stalls. He‘d read about rain. It refracted light, obviously. Also, soaking up pollution in the air, it became weak carbonic acid. Abe considered those points and whether they explained why Sanada, standing in the driving rain in his soaked t-shirt and jeans, looked that way. Big, dark eyes; red lips; skin soft, flushed and pretty.
“Come on,” Sanada yelled, “If we hurry we can catch the next bus and get changed back at my place.”
Abe grabbed his hand as they dashed for the exit.
