So, I realize I haven’t updated in a while. I just haven’t found anything too interesting to write in here yet, or felt lazy to do so the last month or so. Not that I don't like writing in here, just I've been busy I guess. There are a few things that have happened that I'd like to talk about.
First off, I think I am getting a second job, waiting tables at this new restaurant that they are opening here in Glen Burnie called Bonefish Grill. It is a national chain restaurant owned by Outback Steak International. They are opening this restaurant at the Glen Burnie Mall, which I think they are trying to re-develop. They have even changed the name of the place to 'The Centere at Glen Burnie' I think it is. Anyway, I have so far done well interviewing for the place, and have one more tonight. I think I'll get the waiting job. Being broke, I sort of need the money, and figured this'll be a great way for a little while, if things go right.
That's half of the interesting things going on at this particular day. The second is the subject line. So, I do still have foot-in-mouth disease. I thought I had gotten rid of the malady upon moving from Mississippi, but it reared its ugly head on me today. I was down in the office, where I had just brought a computer back down that I had failed to get the correct video drivers on after imaging the darn thing, so one of the guys down there called BS on me, and said he'll get it working with that CD. I pretty much said I didn't think it would happen, so we made this side bet that he will get it working, and if he does do it, I'd have to do something. I will choose not to say what it was right here, cuz that's part of the problem. So, he does it, and I go tell someone what had happened, cuz I thought she was a trusting person and wouldn't think it was such a bad thing. Well, she really did hate this guy, and I found out the hard way that I shouldn't have told her for many different reasons. Yeah... if you have lived with me in Mississippi, you know I have done this a billion gazillion times, especially in my earlier years. I know common sense is not something you can learn, but there are times when you actually do learn, like now. So, as they say in the commercial, "What happens in Vegas stays at Vegas" is something I will take in life’s little lessons.
Other than that, school is going well, personal life sucks as always, and getting the second job will just give me one more reason to avoid that for a while.
So, I'll talk to y'all l8r,
-Jeff Davis
PS. learned an easier way for me to do spell check is to cut and paste in to the Word editor. WebCT doesn't have a spell check... you'd think an academic program would have something like that on there....
