Title: Clockwatching
Author: hyelle_narmo
Theme: #9 - song titles, #10 - time
Band/Pairing: Kagrra, - Nao/Shin
Notes: 200 words. I was trying to work on a follow-up to Hakai, and instead got... well, I guess it can double as a prequel to Hakai and an alternate (slightly less platonic) version of Open Your Eyes. Song is Jason Mraz's "Clockwatching."

"You need a break."

"I need to finish this."

"It can wait. I'm afraid Isshi's going to be right, and you'll really become a machine."

Low laughter, but no disagreement, which Nao takes as a sign of encouragement. He pets Shin with gentle fingers - shoulders, collarbone, throat, and finally Shin relaxes. He's so close to getting the workaholic out of here. Then:

"What time is it?"

Both of their gazes fly to the clock on the wall. Every silent lurch of the seconds is another task that needs to be done, and he can practically see the list of things to do piling up.

A magician's flourish produces a flutter of cloth wings. They're guided over Shin's eyes, wrapped around and tied at the back of his head. Trust lets Nao pull Shin to his feet and guide him away from his work.

Shin isn't sure where they're going, or how long it takes to get there. His breathing is uneven and he can't count the seconds by it; everything's fallen into a fuzzy-dark haze where he might as well be floating.

Nao finds him with a kiss, softly teasing and deafening in the silence.

"Forget about clocks for awhile."
