Said He, Said She

“A cold winter this time,” said He
“And the sun is out,” said She
“It shines from time to time,” said He
“Out here one can doubt,” said She

“Still the flowers do bloom,” said He
“Not all are active,” said She
“Indeed some can assume,” said He
“Not the ones that live,” said She

“By which what do you mean?” asked He
“They don’t think of the dead,” said She
“Yes they do since that’s mean!” said He
“They never remember the dead,” said She

“How? Why wouldn’t they?” asked He
“Its simple, they just do,” said She
“How? How can you say?” asked He
“What about those dead to you?” asked She

“Now what is this you speak?” asked He
“Those dead in your heart,” said She
“Hearts can also grow weak,” said He
“…Or break other hearts,” said She

Stays awfully silent do He.
“No smart comment to fine?” asked She
“Nothing at the moment,” said He
“Well… what happened to mine?” asked she

“Some don’t live forever,” said He
“No longer… does mine,” said She
“I remember those that live,” said He
“… But never those that died,” said She
